Why can only Humans activate Halo rings?
Well why is it only Humans and I know youre first answer is "cause they are descendents of the forrunners!" Then why worry about the covenant turning one on cause they can't. So why humans only? Also if only humans could operate them wouldn't the Prophets need humans and be busy trying to capture/enslave humans to activate one? Anyone know?

If you're specifically asking *how*, it may very well be our DNA or something. Also, I doubt Forerunners were nehanderfauls (sp?) or even earlier humans. I think they simply used some DNA to create this new offspring, known as Man. Also, I agree on lots of opogs theories, which fit very well and his first theory was more or less or atleast mostly correct (Spartan-III's and Colonel Ackerson training them, that is.)

Then at the end I implied that humans were forerunners, if you want to read it, just type in my name (Aleks Gingras) on http://halo.bungie.org in the Fan-fic section, it may not be the best story, but its "better than a lot of things I've seen on this site" according to a guy who reviewed it. for all we know the forerunners could have been a mix of humans and all these other races. its just after teh first time the rings were activated, we were split to opposite sides of the galaxy. were all just 1 huge intergalactic family, but are ment to be on jerry springer because our family is royally -blam!- up ya kno.

Perhaps Truth is orchestrating one huge plan that involves Chief activating the Ark for him. That or he'll use a Human to do it. Because Tarters refuses to even put the Index in the slot to activate Delta Halo, and in fact just uses Keye's hand to push it in. So I'm not sure if Reclaimers [b]need[/b] to activate Halo. GS sure says so, but that could be from the Forerunners telling him that. Maybe the Index can be activated via contact with DNA? Who knows.

I don't remember exactly but I think it was the forerunners thought the humans would make the best choice of when to use Halo.
