HALO 3, worth getting again?

Afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. To start off, this is my first post on the Bungie forums, so please let me know if I've got this here post in the wrong area. Much appreciated. Now then! Long story short, HALO 4 has disappointed me greatly. It was enjoyable, quite so, and even the multiplayer is okay to play. I have a lot of beefs with the campaign, though, and many more with the multiplayer. In short, the campaign did not feel like HALO to me (it just didn't feel very epic, honestly, didn't instill a sense of pride when I beat it or hit me right in the feels, even in the feely moments), and the multiplayer is certainly not the HALO I've come to play. I understand the need for change, but sometimes the past actually gets some stuff right. Transition! I've been thinking about getting HALO 3 again; mainly for the multiplayer. I love the campaign, but I am no campaign nut, and do play the game for the multiplayer more than the singleplayer, as I did with Reach. My question is simple, but I want the most detailed answers you all can give me: should I get HALO 3 again? I currently own Reach and 4. I'd like to see if it's worth spending the 20 bucks to buy the game or if I would be better off trekking back to Reach; while I enjoy Reach, I know 3 has a certain feel to the MP. Much appreciated, everyone.

 • I never ditched my copy. I even have some recent games played on it too. Right now though I'm playing 'Halo 2's' campaign again. I also occasionally offer my friends some old fashioned split screen on it. Awesome stuff for sure. :)

 • I tried playing action sack again recently. Unfortunately its community is dead. It took me and a friend five minutes to find our first game... and we tried for almost half an hour to find our second before giving up. I think the team slayer/lone wolves playlists still have a small following that allows you to find games quickly. Just stay in the core playlists and you should be fine. Yes. Go get it. And, by the way, you could probably get it cheaper than 20 bucks.

 •
Posted by: matrixboy1994 Personally dude, I would have put this post in the flood/off topic forum, because Bungie isn't in control of Halo anymore.
Or the Halo 3 forums, but the bungie universe forum is also the right place for this thread as bungie created halo 3.

 • If you liked it, you'll still like it. You may have a higher percentage of bad connections/playing the same people, but it's still the same game.

 • The population isn't skyhigh but I'm not having trouble finding games.
Posted by: matrixboy1994 Pe I think the other day I saw MLG had 12 people in it, team objective read 0, and the
Sure but that doesn't always match up, when I played 7 on 7 the "population" was at like 4 people, well I found a game within 10-20 seconds.

 • Personally dude, I would have put this post in the flood/off topic forum, because Bungie isn't in control of Halo anymore. But back to the point I do agree Halo 4 as it stands has been a wee bit of a letdown to be honest... The new MLG v1 Settings have started to rekindle my fire for Halo multiplayer, but yeah I wouldn't recommend going back to Halo 3. Admittedly it was probably the best game I've ever played online but nowadays the population numbers in each playlist are so ridiculously low, I think the other day I saw MLG had 12 people in it, team objective read 0, and the only real playlist you'll get decent games in is social slayer, but even then you're most likely to come up against similar people over and over again. I've been playing a lot of Reach lately and I definitely have more fun on that than on Halo 4, even with like the bloom (Which takes more skill to control), sprint and Armor Lock.

 • I would've posted this in the Halo 3 Forum. OT: I would get it, before a new copy of the game becomes hard to find like Halo 2. Sure, the multiplayer is slow with the low population, but the games are still fun. Plus, in 20 years, you will still be able to relive the campaign. [Edited on 01.06.2013 8:38 AM PST]

 • Not many people are playing Halo 3 anymore so it might take you a while to get a game.
