I never knew Hitman Codename 47 was so hard...

I never really played the first Hitman until now. I always played the 2nd one a lot and then the others too. I didn't really play the 1st one because I I don't find gaming with a keyboard comfortable. But now that I am older and better I had to play the first one. But I never knew it was so hard. The first few missions are okay, but "Say hello to my little friend" is just an eye stabber. It's so difficult. But maybe that's because I hate the PC controls. Have you ever played an old game and then found out it was bloody hard?

It is indeed pretty damn hard; took me dozens of trys on get past the last two Hong Kong levels, the first of quick I had to look up a walkthrough for. The second one was frustrating as all hell; that "no saves" thing is probably the games biggest flaw, it's a classic example of frustration-provocation over legitimate difficulty. But when I finally finished it it was very satisfying. I am also currently stuck on "Say hello to my little friend." Getting onto the compound is easy; killing the main guy, getting across the compound to the bunker and then getting back to the airstrip is the hard part.
The problem I'm having is that every guard shoots me when they see me holding a gun. I'm not the only one holding a gun, what the hell! That's why I try to kill Pablo and everyone else with the silenced gun since I can hide it in my pockets.
I've found when you're holding a gun other guards are holding (an AK, in my case), they don't shoot, but when holding an abnormal gun (silenced Beretta, in my case), they know you're an imposter. Excellent coding or finicky glitching, I don't know which. Either way, killing everyone in the house is possible. The trick is doing so without dieing. I've managed even that, the REAL trouble for me has been crossing the compound with getting shot to death from every side. This is my first Hitman game, I've assuming the others are more reasonable? Absolution certainly looks very good.
They even shoot me when I hold an AK. But yeah, every Hitman game so far are incredibly amazing in my opinion! Not a single Hitman game has disappointed me. :)
Good to hear; I might be picking up the HD collection on Xbox next month.

Then I killed the second and couldn't get through.

 •
Posted by: supertripon
Posted by: III H1TMAN III I have no internet access
Wait, what?
Like I said. I play Hitman CN: 47 on my old laptop. It had internet before, but my adapter thing broke and I couldn't restore it somehow. But I don't mind. As long as I can play Hitman on it I'm fine.

 • Out of the series, i'd say it's the most difficult. Closely followed by Contracts.

I sometimes can't headshot perfectly because my mouse is acting crazy and goes everywhere. :P I don't suck though, I still do very good. I should because Hitman games are my most fav games. But playing with a controller in my hand is easier for me than a keyboard. Still, it isn't unplayable for me, I get used to it. :)

 •
Posted by: chronicaddict420
Posted by: swvjdirector You hate the PC controls? Can't you literally rebind any key to any other key? I don't have the first Hitman, so maybe that feature isn't there?
I think he means the whole keyboard /mouse setup in general. You could get a program like Xpadder and then use a ps3 or 360 controller.
Yep, that's what I mean. Plus I play it on a very old pc. It plays fine but I have no internet access so I can't download that program.

 • I got the first and second in the sale and I just gave up on Codename 47. It's very unforgiving (no saves) and the controls are very clunky. Hitman 2 is pretty fun though.
