Hey Flood, I hate to do this, but English is REALLY not my strong subject, plus I almost never keep up with the news, except for what I see on here + the presidential debates. So I need to find how themes or other parts of Act 4 of Hamlet connect to real life, whether it be life, school, community, or even other texts or events, and pretty much everything else.
I'm not asking for you to do my homework, I honestly just need some help with this. I'll appreciate anyone who can help me with this, thank you :)

Couldn't find anything in an internet search, but I'm not going to try any harder than that... I'll bump your post, good luck on your assignment!

I charge $25/hour to teach people's kids this stuff. Why do people think they can get the Flood to do their homework for free?

Guys, don't be so lame. Stop helping the OP with his homework.

At the time the story is supposed to take place, Denmark had a democratic monarchy. Bam, instant election parallel. Also that assignment sounds -blam!- retarded. [Edited on 10.23.2012 6:20 AM PDT]

I swear, kids these days are so silly. Act IV of Hamlet is all about the death of Polonius and its affects on the populace. Laertes returns and Ophelia goes crazy. The most obvious comparison is the characters of Hamlet and Laertes to the Middle East. Hamlet, who has every reason to be angry at Claudius and wage war, doesn't want to fight. Sounds like an isolationist viewpoint. Laertes, on the other hand, doesn't think before he acts and wants to kill everyone to avenge his father's death. Sounds pretty Republican to me. Hell, you can even relate Ophelia's madness to teen sex. Ideas are abound. [Edited on 10.23.2012 6:18 AM PDT]

Take that and shove it down your throat OP.
OF COURSE! Why didn't I think of that before!
I can't wait to use this in my English class. I can put off reading the book and use those two simple sentances and get an +A!
Yeah! That sounds like a great idea! OT: I'm really not sure, I'll look into it because I did work on Hamlet recently. [Edited on 10.23.2012 6:09 AM PDT]

Hamlet was based off of a real world event in... Denmark I believe. Google it and use that as your connection.

I forgot what Hamlet is about, nor have I ever read it but if I did, I could probably help!
