She couldn't make up her mind what ethnicity she was.

The fight is sparked in the second one because the kid mentions something about Lasky's brother should have been the one to come back to Lasky's mom. Something along those lines...

Honestly, this episode was much better than past episodes. Not just because of the action, but because it actually has dramatic moments and isn't boring as hell. The only real bad thing would be the cliche "best friends fall in love, kiss each other, than bad things happen".
