That or AT&T is by far the most infuriating ISP.
Seems everytime I google a guide its ALWAYS linksys. And NEVER the AT&T interface.
I even went to AT&T's port forwarding guide...Oop, go figure after I did everything they tell me to do my NAT is still moderate.
So...Flood, what is a good isp that doesn't give you a sucky nat?

just portforwarding in general is

try port forwarding on ubuntu.

Did that. Still moderate. Unknown asto why. Unless there is something i have to enter specifically in the fields. That opens up all the ports for your xbox automatically. To do it, goto your router's webpage, find out what your xbox 360's ip address is, put that in DMZ. Done. Might want to make your 360 IP static (it's automatic by default) though.

I see a nice custom service button. If you use that and forward the ports needed by xbox live to your xbox's static ip you should be sweet.
That's DMZ. It's there somewhere. [Edited on 10.12.2012 5:28 AM PDT]
Posted by: JimReaper
Posted by: SHOTTY SNIP3R Why don't you just DMZ instead of port forwarding? Just make your Xbox IP static and then Turn DMZ on for your Xbox IP. The most important thing is that the ip is "static" so that the dmz will always apply to your PC or Xbox rather than any ip assigned device which happens to get that ip. Well you say that you port forwarded as per their instructions. A firewall or antivirus could be the problem. Basically if your PC always has the same ip every time from the router (presumably set as static), port forwarding is all that needs to be done on the router end. [Edited on 10.12.2012 5:18 AM PDT]

Flew right over my head.
Posted by: Geoffrey603 you'll want to set a DHCP rule up to auto assign an IP to your xbox's MAC address, and port forward/DMZ that ip. You can also set a static ip, but it's not as... neat. EDIT: Derp, PC not xbox MAC address.

>Quake Live How many Australian servers are there for that? And don't you have any American friends who you play games with now and then?
I don't know how many Australian servers Quake Live has, because a server can host multiple games, and games are all that's listed. Regardless, playing a game that requires immediate input on the output (like a FPS) with people across continental distances is ridiculous; latency proves too big a factor. The player/s closest to the server have such a huge advantage it's just crazy, and anti-lag code to compensate those who aren't just screws the game up. Online play over great distances is just not fair in any manner. I only Quake with Aussies, no Americans. Kiwis are forced to play on Aussie servers because they don't have their own, but that's okay; the distance is tolerable, in fact, it's shorter than Perth to Sydney. LAN is best, there's no substitute. [Edited on 10.12.2012 5:12 AM PDT]

Yeah, the Uverse/2Wire router AT&T provides is not a very good one. I have an Apple Time Capsule set up along side it. The 2Wire handles the DHCP, while the TC handles the rest of the routing functions (port forwarding, etc.). If you have another router lying around, you could try a similar set up.

At least my ISP supplies a rather stock D-Link router with stock firmware. Didn't mess around with the settings as it's pretty much the default settings but with security and different SSID. My NAT varies between Good and Moderate. But I usually reboot the router if I get a Moderate NAT. [Edited on 10.12.2012 4:56 AM PDT]
