For the advanced users I recommend Comodo Internet Security it's a all in one anti vitus tool with everything needed except powerful scanning tools with like rootkit and malware detection rates. It will block anything that tries to do something fishy with the computer unless you want the program to allow it. And if speed is no concern then I think you pplz should try it.

Find the file, I had it and took me weeks of digging to get rid of.
Posted by: anonymoss ban op...you banned me before for posting unsafe link by accident. if you don't do it to him i am starting petition on change.org to get you mods fired.
LMFAO @ a petition to get moderators on an internet forum fired. That is the funniest thing I've heard in a while. ©

Sometimes, toolbars in Chrome are considered Extensions and are put in that section of the Tools option. Try checking if that's the case, and if it is, you can just delete it.
Posted by: ankerd123 So you're telling me if I posted a link to an explicit website. But didn't make the link clickable, it should not be ban able. lol every ones logic.
Quit whining. OT: Do you really not have any sort of anti-virus software installed that could've told you about this, yorkie? ©
Posted by: mvyorkie009 ok that damn funmoods is back on my computer and i have deleted everything where it was at and i have NO idea how it is still on here. i have ran SD but it will not clear out babylon toolbar. it says it cant do it because it in in operation. ive closed out of the web browser but it wont do anything still. it says it part of the register key. yorkie
Babylon tool bar? That -blam!-s annoying, check see if it's installed under options on Google Chrome.

I'm not going to read through this thread to see if it has already been mentioned (though I'm sure it has), but run a scan with Malware Bytes Anti-Malware (free). yorkie

From there uninstall from the control panel. For Funmoods, just do what I said last time and once it's uninstalled, edit your browser settings to fix your default search engine and your homepage. It's not actually on your computer, it just makes your browser's homepage the Funmoods site and makes your browser search with the Funmoods search engine. Microsoft Security Essentials will not catch Funmoods or Babylon because it sucks at anything other than remedial security. [Edited on 10.11.2012 12:30 AM PDT]

Try using the free version of Avast! The non-licensed version should catch and remove any rootkits or viruses you have. If you want to be absolutely certain you get everything, run a boot-time scan with a high sensitivity. That'll catch any viruses that hide from antivirus software by looking for them before Windows is running. And come on guys, stop bashing the OP for posting a link to the malware site and going on about a Bungie employee being on the flood. We have better things to do like actually being on topic, right? Uh, "Here's the link, but don't open it, and please tell me if it's legit". >.>
-
Wow, a Bungie employee posts and only 37 replies? I'm impressed. Anyways, browser hijacking is probably just a run of the mill virus, and MSE, Malwarebytes, or maybe even Spybot could remove. It could be indicative of something worse, but the chances are slim. If it's a rootkit, you'll probably need to get a rootkit remover.
-
Just get some anti virus software already...
-
i have an old tactic for exes that you cant get rid of. simply remove them from the boot process. however as you're talking about a browser related thing it may not be related.
Posted by: ankerd123 So you're telling me if I posted a link to an explicit website. But didn't make the link clickable, it should not be ban able. lol every ones logic.
Two years ago, I would've had an answer for you. But since the rules were expedited to "good luck, jerks", I really don't know what's not allowed on this site anymore (beyond emulation discussion, cough cough).
Posted by: Still_7_fish
Posted by: ankerd123 Did you seriously not ban OP for posting that link? It's nearly as bad as John Cena etc.
Not only is that apples to oranges (yorkie isn't trying to fool anyone here), anyone dumb enough to click a link that is clearly labelled "spyware" deserves what they get. Anyone dumb enough to COPY AND PASTE THE LINK and then go there shouldn't be operating a computer.
Probably the most intelligent thing I have ever seen in the flood.

Delete system 32, that's where viruses reside.
