...what is it?
For me, it would have to be either Gemini or Relic. Those maps were perfect and I think they'd work well with Halo 4's new style of gameplay. Gemini would be perfect for the Classic playlist too.

Orbital or Last Resort.

Any map from Halo 2 for me, really. It's nice seeing Valhalla again, but I'd love to see Terminal or Turf. Or even Backwash for Flood Mode

Sandtrap.

Sandtrap.
-
Standoff, Sandtrap, Avalanche. Mostly Standoff.
-
Relic. It's my favorite map from any game ever made.
-
1. Sandtrap 2. Standoff 3. Turf 4. High Ground 5. Sidewinder Arena maps would not work for Halo 4 sandbox so I picked my favorite large or open maps.

Chiron TL-34. Why not have a map with a bunch of teleportors for some random killing action?
-
Headlong or Ascension.
Posted by: Noshotskill Relic, I think the map would work well with the Mantis and armor abilities. Not to mention Halo 3 and Reach lacked a good 1 sided BTB map, so Relic would be very welcomed at this point.
Agreed. I could see it also working well with Jetpack and perma-sprint, which makes it an oddity among older maps. It would still need tweaking, obviously, but still. :P

Containment or Guardian. Seeing as how Halo 4 plays, with Sprint as Default as a starter, I can't see Guardian happening. So, I'm going with Containment. And also, Containment has epic, huge scale battles. And with Halo 4's sandbox, it would just be too -Blaming- awesome! [Edited on 10.07.2012 11:37 PM PDT]

Boarding Action
-
Relic
-
Sword Base, obviously. But, really, this:
Posted by: A 3 Legged Goat None. Nothing else would play well with Halo 4's gameplay, and I wouldn't want their memories ruined, like Pinnacle, Asylum, Hemorrhage, and Reflection did in Reach.
The remakes in that were on Reach when it came out were just awful choices to have AAs and other elements of Reach on. But most of the Anniversary maps played great with Reach gameplay. I can think of plenty of maps that could potentially play well with Halo 4. I haven't played Halo 4 so I can't really tell what may work at the moment.
Posted by: SQWABYSQWAB I distinctly remember Gemini being an awful map where everybody would camp the teleporters. Anyways, a proper remake of Sanctuary would be nice. Or Colossus.
Colossus was an amazing shotty-snipers map in Halo 2.
