Can't watch Forward Unto Dawn because...

...they keep calling women of rank "sir." It is seriously that big of a pet peeve of mine. Any of you have this issue? Just to clarify since most of you do not know. Women officers in the US military are referred to as ma'am. [Edited on 10.06.2012 7:56 PM PDT]

 •
Posted by: Gioger I think it's just what the military does is SOME countries. I'm pretty sure we call Ladies "Sir" in the American Military.
I'm pretty sure I've addressed every female officer I've ever seen as "ma'am."

 •
Posted by: petarded2 they did it in the new battlestar galactica too, but for me the relationship between awful science fiction and calling women "sir" is merely a correlation not a causation
I hate you so much right now- stupid stats. OT: True.

 • The U.S. use "Sir" to women sometimes. We also usually say "Ma'am. I know it's funny, but it's the truth. [Edited on 10.06.2012 7:53 PM PDT]
