Ask me anything - video inside! :)

Here it is, enjoy! Original OP below:
Aaaaaaaaaages ago, I made a thread where people asked me questions, and I answered them all in a video. I had fun doing it, and so I'd like to do another. Basically, ask me whatever you want ITT. (Try not to ask anything that's against the forum rules! Let's keep it clean, please.) I'll answer all your questions in a video blog that I'll post here for you to watch/comment-spam/laugh at. It'll be fun!
[Edited on 10.03.2012 10:30 AM PDT]
We're good at taking such things in the spirit of fun in which they were intended. Australians are great at laughing at themselves. It's one thing I love about our culture.
Fair enough. On the culture note is there really different or I guess a more relaxed feel towards indigenous in an attempt to respect some of there ceremonies? Or am I misinformed thanks to misleading Google links?

 •
Posted by: Simba Too Cold
Posted by: jaythenerdkid
Posted by: Simba Too Cold does it ever raise an issue of lack of legitimacy? Not sure if I was clear with that. umm Does the mandatory voting ever create a problem with people or are voting just to avoid fines?
Some people donkey vote, sure. But for the most part, I think people are forced to consider who they're voting for and why because when it's something you have to do, it starts to feel like a duty, if that makes sense.
It does. I have a lot of dumb questions that may come up (like do you all hate Crocodile Dundee) I'm kind of obsessed with Australia.
"That's not a knife! This is a knife." Crocodile Dundee is the Australian doogy, trufax. We tend to be fairly affectionate towards our cultural icons, even if it's in a pretty irreverent way.

I got my name checked off the official roster, i was handed the voting slips, i went into the booth, wrote a massive LOL over it, folded it up and dropped the slip into the ballot box.

 •
Posted by: Apocalypse Why is Forum Tryhards so much better of a private group than Sapphire?
LOL. FT was so easy to troll and get mad. I managed to get the whole group mad in like 2 hours of barely trying. Least you named your group right so I'll give you partial credit for that.

 •
Posted by: jaythenerdkid
Posted by: Simba Too Cold That's crazy. Because of the strict rules or laws in place does that mean you guys have more access to information that the candidates may try to hide? Or is it (from what you know) the same kind of situation as in America?
Politics in general is very different here than it is in America. You don't see the same kind of ideological hardline stances here. I think Australia is just too centrist as a country for any of that stuff to fly. We have extremists, and some of them even get elected sometimes, but overall, things are far more reasonable than they are in the States. Another thing that's different is that because we're a constitutional monarchy rather than a republic, there's less of a cult of personality going on with our heads of state. I mean, don't get me wrong, people will still vote for a party for the sake of its leader, but I think it happens less than it does in the US, where the presidential elections are basically a giant popularity contest.
does it ever raise an issue of lack of legitimacy? Out of town, though, I've seen a lot of kangaroos and wallabies, and while PJ was here visiting, he saw a cassowary on the side of the highway. I saw a couple of snakes while I lived out in the country, but nothing too scary. Most of the really nasty critters don't live in heavily populated areas.
You can also see quite a few of these at any park if you look hard enough.

In some areas closer to the edge of the cities, you get possums foraging through rubbish bins, wallabies and wombats crossing roads.
