Can your vision be too bad for contacts?
My vision is 70/20. Is this okay for contacts?

My eyes are too bad for normal contacts. I have a terrible astigmatism. I've tried them, but in addition to my terrible vision my eyes are twice the size of a normal human's (you can't tell by looking at me) so they are flatter, also. Contacts won't stay in place. Not to mention they have to be so thick they dry my eyes immediately. They mentioned gas oppressed ones or something like that? [Edited on 09.25.2012 8:36 PM PDT]

I have bad vision and a stigmatism as well. I also wear contacts. Get 'em. They are pretty nice since they takes away the risk of dropping glasses and breaking them.

[/quote] Got this, and a host of other problems. They can make contacts for you, but its usually a special brand and ends up being a bit more expensive. Also the more problems the less customization you get. (Like softness, etc.)

If you can wear glasses for it, don't see why contacts would be an issue.

One of my friends has to wear both contacts and glasses, so yes op, your vision can be too bad for contacts.

my vision is 20/100 and contacts work great for me. ( I just use one contact lense in my right eye )

Well, I know my own eyes are so bad they can't be corrected for surgery, but I don't know about contacts. I don't find them all that appealing anyway.

My ex had some pretty thick lenses, but she still wore contacts.
