For you non-French speakers:
"Particular attention has been brought to the character design, which is in that game mode."
"Different so as not to overlap with the weapons already known. But certain elements give the impression of a happy mixture of materials between covenant and the UNSC. For example, the Boitshot is equivalent to a Promethean Magnum spartan with shooting function concentrated. The improvements in Promethean armour also offers interesting possibilities of attack. One of them brings up a drone that draws on everything that enters its field of action. The helmet offers a Promethean vision through the fog, but also the identification of enemy caches. Very practical. Once the safe theater of operations must fulfill certain objectives imposed by the scenario. 343i will post every week a new xbox webnews chapter consisting of five missions."

And if they do in the coming trilogy the for god's sake kill them off already and move on to something new and exciting.
No, Gravemind didn't die, well not all of them did. There are dozens of other Graveminds, and the Flood were not all killed.
Can I get a video or a quote or something for this? Was it in Primordium?
Yes. There is this whole confusing part where they speak to "The timeless one" (thought to be a precursor). I could dig up the ending if you don't care about spoilers (the ending has the first and only conversation with him I believe).

And nor was it all Flood in the galaxy, just the Flood of High Charity.
He tried rebuilding himself on New Installation 04. New Installation 04 broke apart. I think he meant he can be rebuilt even after this, not that he'd survive the destruction. (Unless you count being reborn as surviving, of course.)

Their have also been some predictions that the flood was created by the precursors, and it only attacks species they are "testing" So you might see some background on them, maybe a few fights, but they probably won't be a major issue. Unless someone releases them or something.

And the Flood on the other Halo rings are probably alright. The firing of the Halo was just outside the Miliky Way. That's why there was the whole deal with the Portal. Only "canon" reason I can say is that it never hurts to be prepared. That and they may want to test out how Promethean weapons work against the Flood. We know, but the UNSC might not. We wis again once more! Didnt read the article, but do the flood infect you by killing you, or do they just infect you now?
Posted by: mr t0kit0s I didn't think they would ever actually do it...
I know man, months ago they were just ideas we were laughing about.. but now..O.O.

Yes, I was hoping for this, I made a thread about it on Waypoint in March I think.

Ahh this is making me wish I hadn't canceled my Xbox subscription, I was just getting H4 for the campaign.
Posted by: Wyzilla Not to mention that 343 has taking a big stinking -blam!- on the lore by authorizing Cryptum.
Er... Cryptum didn't actually change anything about the lore, it expanded on what was established in the Halo 3 Terminals and IRIS Saga. It is also one of the best things to happen to the lore, providing a whole new layer to the Halo universe we'd only gotten the briefest glimpses at before.
Posted by: A 3 Legged Goat
Posted by: IVI1CR0S0F7 I have a complaint. 343 wanted a reason for the Spartans fighting, but then they throw in The Flood? That makes no sense. That isn't my complaint. If they could have Flood, they could have Elites.
Flood-infected Spartans are different from flood and elites.
It doesn't make sense. Make a Flood-Spartan, something that never happened, Simulation but not a Covenant Elite or Brute one? Okay.

This looks so sick. 343i is putting a lot of effort into this game. I love it.
Posted by: omg a bannana
1. It's not a simulation on the Dawn, it's on the Infinity 2. The Flood wasn't wiped out. The Halo ring fired at the end of Halo 3 was to get rid of the local infestation. It didn't wipe out all sentient beings in the Galaxy, so the Flood wasn't "starved" to death.
1. You should tell that story at parties. 2. So then the Infinity was made to go roam the galaxy in search of the Flood to fight eh? 3. How do they know what will happen when a spartan gets infected? 4. How can a spartan even get infected when they're locked in their suit?
1. ...I correct one little thing and you get defensive about it? 2. The Infinity was sent to explore in general. 3. Spartans are humans. If normal humans were turned into combat forms then Spartans would also be turned into combat forms. 4. They're not covered from head to toe in metal. The Flood could get in by the area around a Spartan's neck.
