I was wondering if there are any other 3D modelers in the gallery than myself? I am relatively new to it but I have been making video game based models and uploading them to the Google 3D Warehouse.
I am hoping to find some fellow modelers so that when bungie releases info on there game we can start creating accurate 3D models of in-game stuff.
You can see my work here: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/search?viewer=1192321170097721127119687&scoring=m
(BTW I did post a thread similar this in the community forum a while back, but a ninja told me it would be more appropriate to have it in the gallery)
yea I want to get better at using blender so that I can have a basic understanding of a more advanced modeling tool, then give something like maya or max a try.
I have Blender, Maya, Mudbox, Cinema 4D, and 3DS Max. I think Maya is the easiest out of all of those to model in.
I disike Maya, 3DS max came much easier to me. What's Cinema 4D like? I've heard a lot about it.

I used to make a lot with Sketchup until I realized the limitations with that program. I'll see if I can get some of my Halo 3 models on here later today. I ended up modeling those big red cranes on the mission The Storm when you fight the Scarab. I made a Multiplayer map design based off that. In the process I ended up designing stuff like Barricades, Containers, Cones, Fence Walls...
Posted by: TheBestTheyHad I built an Halo map when Halo 3 came out but lost it when my PC took a dump on me. Now I just experiment with different types of architectural looks. that's why I love using sketchup, it may be limited for anything other than buildings and basic terrain, but the online warehouse is an awesome backup!
