So I recently had some thread posts and PM's with some younger members about being too old to be on this site.
Personally I think the demographic for Halo is older than teenager but I'd like to hear from the community about age on B.net?
Also for reference I am 36 and here's some recent gamer age statistics from Australia -
Average age for an Australian gamer is now 32...

My oldest and best gamer friend is 66 years old. He's a good gamer, an honorable gamer, a professional jazz musician, and a married man. I am among the youngest in my unofficial club of gamers, and I am 21. You can not be too old to play.

Video games are no different from books or movies, you can be any age to fully enjoy them. This argument works the same way in the opposite direction too. People should be judged on their maturity, not their age.

I was a teenager when I first joined this community ten years ago. Like many, I joined shortly after Halo 1 launched with the original Xbox in anticipation of Halo 2 - to join in on the speculation, theories, and overall general discussion about the start of the Halo franchise. I'm now in my mid twenties and still love it here. I think that age is irrelevant in terms of the community - however, you can usually tell which ones are younger simply due to maturity level. Cheers

Younger users who think video games are only for them have a very selfish viewpoint. Gamers come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and ages. Do teens make video games? Are teens the best at playing video games? Is all game content aimed at children? The fact is that there are disciplines, arts, and industries behind gaming that all exist in an adult world as well as a teen world. Gaming is cosmopolitan. Teens who say that older gamers should move on are simply perpetuating the mindset that is generally a generational difference.
Posted by: DrBunsenHoneydew Here, I made you a helpful chart.
According to your chart, it seems MOST people on Bungie.net are younger with the exception out of outliers like Marty.

Mid to late 20s here. And age doesn't equal maturity. It also doesn't help with spelling. I'm don't consider my self to be to old. But I did find myself asking a strange question to myself a few months ago. Self, what are you now, 27, 28? And you are seriously sitting here playing video games while there are so many things that need to be completed around the house. I think that I was instructed to put away childish things now that I am grown. Answer: What about playing video games is childish? Most of the good games are rated M for mature. And I don't care for all the sex and language, but violence is where the fun is. I know that talking to yourself is bad, but answering yourself is even worse. Maybe that is a sign, that i'm too old to be here.

Quite a few posts are, obviously but I suppose it's all how you want to look at things. Shoe's right, as always.
Mostly the Flood I am interested though as to where these old people are hiding. Most of the people who I see post are usually young (teens -maybe mid 20s).
Private groups. That's also the answer to your first question. Just because we're here doesn't mean we like to hang out on your terrible mains.

Too old to play video games? Nah Too old to be on a forum? Well, maybe.

It's around 21, give or take depending on the sampling method. If it makes you feel any better, about 5% of our community is older than you are. :)
That is surprising, I suppose though we have some oldies bringing up the average.
That's a substantially larger percentage than I would have ever guessed. I'm quite excited, to be honest, it shows a large range of ages to draw from in any given discussion. I'll admit, the reason I'm still here is because of the community. Yes, Bungie has made some amazing games, but I haven't touched a videogame in what is seemingly a long time. Knowing that there is a large population of users with a higher age is very reassuring in the validity of this community. We have guaranteed something in our discussions that not many other places can have; Experience.
If we got so many people who are so old, why are the forums so immature?
