The Mail Sack is here to save the day!

Let's open the Sack. As for the challenge, guessing at Bungie Lore won't be enough. We want to see your problem solving mojo. Team up if you will, but a winner is just a guesser without documentation of how they solved the puzzle.

 •
Posted by: Unanimate Objec
Posted by: T21095 So the data set of pictures and their relevance has been noted, as has the astra stuff, so all that is left would have to be the remaining numbers/letters, yes? I'm trying to keep up.
Short answer: Yes. Impressive. It's pretty cool going back to look at where we were and where we are now.
Have the numbers been linked to letters in any way? 1=A, 2=B, etc. Maybe the 4 at the top of the septagon is the final letter.

 •
Posted by: SpecOps11 Yes it has been, I was out looking at houses all day with my wife and trying very hard to keep up with the hints and stay one step ahead, which is very hard when you're trying to check the forums PMs on your phone and trace stuff with paper and ruler while convincing your wife that you're paying attention while house shopping....
XD, seems legit. Also, 500th comment FTW. Let's finish this.

 •
Posted by: SpecOps11 No, I can save you the time of re-drawing those lines. I do not believe that is the correct answer. Unless you've managed to skip a step. (If a split victory could be accepted by David/Bungie I would gladly bring you up to speed to my current progress. But having been awake nearly a day trying to solve this puzzle I would like to keep my current progress to myself. But I will try to save you the trouble of redoing incorrect implementations).
I get what you mean. This entire day has been taxing, especially since I had a long day yesterday spending it with my friend at a birthday party.

 • Best of luck, as much as I would like to win knowing that it's over would help me move on and get other work I need to complete done. :) Also, for all you know I am just trying to impede your progress so a rework is likely the wise choice. [Edited on 09.15.2012 6:18 PM PDT]

 •
Posted by: Unanimate Objec
Posted by: SpecOps11 It also doesn't help that sometimes the lines ambiguously cross certain elements.
You mean barely touching letters that could or could not be a part of the solution?
Yes, however, I have seen that a valid progression is likely to be less error prone. I think when one of us still attempting this considers the correct final step it won't be questionable. It will also help that we know the answer... last week I had bit.ly/rdyLk because my program cut off the last bit of the P. But wasn't able to confer with David before someone else found the answer. But the fact that the link came out clearly was proof to me that I had at least done that step right.

 •
Posted by: SpecOps11
Posted by: Unanimate Objec The trickiest part is that the letters I have leftover are not very prone to being converted into latin words. I know that connecting the dots is what I have to do, I'm just carefully examining exactly how I did it.
See, that's the problem. I think since the answer has been found to be Per Audacia Ad Astra, there will be 0 left over letters not some extra latin word/english word. He incorrectly labeled my answer as correct as simply Per Audacia Ad Astra with no additions.
Right, so I'm trying to figure out how to manipulate the letters and numbers to get what I need while staying within the rules of the game. I'll redo the picture once more, and see what comes of it.

(Or don't try to make the problem fit the answer) It won't make it any easier necessarily but that will be one less thing to think about. And you will just know you've solve it when something obvious points to "Per Audacia Ad Astra"
It seemed pretty obvious. I connected the points, and arrived at that answer. What are your thoughts on what we should do?
Except you had lots of letters left over. My stumble upon the answer earlier involved a similar mistake that I tried to make fit. The solutions from previous weeks were very concise provided you knew the method. Your solution still ignores the left over letters. There is also a step I personally know you are missing at least based on your discussion. I will suggest that you go back to analyze the way you are handling the numbers for now.
The trickiest part is that the letters I have leftover are not very prone to being converted into latin words. • This puzzle is really tricky. You really don't know what to focus on and what not to focus on. The numbers, letters, and pictures have relevance to the proof that it is "Per Audacia Ad Astra," but knowing how it all connects is just headache-inducing.

Sorry for my possible inaccuracy.
The whole thing does seem rather inconsistent doesn't it? We think "To the stars and beyond", DeeJ says "See you starside", Google Translate says "By daring to the stars..." I think it just means "In SPAAAAAAAAAAACE."
