Explain why the stereotype of nerds have acne

I'm confused on this. The stereotype of a nerd is usually a scrawny kid with acne but the acne part kinda confuses me. So being a nerd causes acne to appear on your face? But I seen some jocks with acne, are they nerds now?

 • because nerds pick at their face and it gets worse. if they had friends, they wouldnt worry about it or even think about it because they would be busy hanging out with them.

 •
Posted by: BlackHeaven We try to make the undesirables as undesirable as possible. Acne is undesirable.
As is the wicked witch of Oz. If she was pretty, the movie might have been akward. But that just proves that in humanity, ignorance is abliss and I mean REALLY abliss. The world wouldn't have quite as many problems as it does if everyone understood eachother properly. [Insert fact here about how war x was started because y didn't understand z]

I guess..
That's right, when nerdy people are in the shower they purposely lean out so their face doesn't get washed. [Edited on 09.10.2012 5:16 PM PDT]
I mean, rubbing the oil out of your face, shampooing well, you know, being hygienic...

 • Anyone with acne is a pizza face geek. Doesn't matter if your king of the football squad or just a fat kid slurping soda pop off the floor.

 • Trying to make the image of undesirable. Also the theory might be that nerds spend more time learning and not being cleanly. The reverse is usually true. You see more Germophobic Nerds then any other group of people.
