If I'm on the right definition of Brostep, a.k.a. Sonny Moore etc., I feel like I like Brostep more than Dubstep. I know this is weird, since everyone acts like Brostep is cancer, but I come from a hardcore/screamo background and I love it loud and filthy. Everyone seems to act like it's a bad thing, but I just find myself loving it. What about you flood? What's your tastes?

I prefer Dubstep, but I can handle some Brostep every now and again, quite like Excision's album.

I prefer certain dubstep and a lot of brostep, my brother is a dubstep purist.
Then what is Skrillex?
Glitch and electro house. He might have one or two songs that could be slightly considered brostep.
That sounds so wrong.

I find it hard to believe that there's a lot of similarity in a genre called something as vague as "glitch"... [Edited on 08.30.2012 6:41 PM PDT]

Hardstyle is still the best EDM, these lame genres will soon fade and peace will be restored.
Posted by: JakeTheSnake34 I like music based on if i like the song not the genre.
While I feel the same way a lot, it seems like the only way to discover new artists nowadays is to figure out exactly what you are listening to and then go hunt down other artists similar to it in that genre...

I'd rather listen to AOL 56k sign-in.

i dislike them both equally

I don't enjoy aggressive or dirty dubstep whatsoever. I prefer stuff more like this or this. [Edited on 08.30.2012 6:17 PM PDT]

Skrillex is considered brostep. I prefer brostep over dubstep.
Posted by: Lil Taco 117 Brostep is factually cancer. Dubstep from Europe, like Burial, is great.
But why though? I really like brostep. I like dubstep too, just not as much. What I'm focused on is why people think brostep is bad...
Posted by: Delta Ex Genesis I hate brostep. It's a disgrace to EDM.
Posted by: Darkslayer18264 What the -blam!- is brostep?
After reading this article, my eyes have opened a little bit to the fact that dubstep is such a varied genre, it has a little sub-genre called "brostep." From what I've gathered so far, it's mostly that akin to Sonny Moore's work (though I could be wrong). [Edited on 08.30.2012 6:06 PM PDT]
