NOTE: I read the rules. This isn't political, as I'm not taking any side of a political party.
If this gets out of hand, however, I will close the thread, and erase the OP.
Calmly state your standpoint, why you have that standpoint, and respectfully listen/disagree with someone else's.
The -blam!- filter should not be breached, and there should be no hurt feelings from this thread. I merely want to know the Flood's standpoint on the matter.
I personally am strongly for it.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with it, and I haven't so much as glanced at the chick-fil-a since it was discovered they gave money to anti--blam!--blam!- organizations.
Love is love.
And if Chick-fil-a can say their opinion, and discriminate against -blam!--blam!-s, I can say my opinion and not eat there.
OP Lives in Dallas BTW

Our entire society works off unnatural things, why is being "unnatural" bad?

Also, our government is set up to provide two purposes. One, that a majority will not overpower a vocal minority, and that a vocal minority will not overpower a majority. Religion and government are also supposed to be separate. So why do we have a (primarily )religious majority overpowering a minority in such a way? Doesn't make any sense to me.

"Marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman" True, and people in the 1800s thought only white men should be business owners.

Yes, I am in favor of it. I fail to see what the big deal is if we allow it. I have yet to hear one good reason against it. It's stupid to not allow it.
Posted by: S 24993 JAMES My point was just to make marriage something that only same-sex couples can recieve, but it has no benifits, and make the civil union something that any couple can recieve, but it recieves all the benifits marriage recieves (Or vice versa, the names of the terms really aren't important). I may not agree with christianity's veiws on ghey marriage, but I respect their right to have them. IMO this is the best solution for everyone.
What? How does that help at all? No I see what Winy was talking about. You're implying that geys only care about the notion that they want to be married, they want to be married and they want the same benefits. Why would both sides only get half and half? What good does that do?

I support gay marriage. I've met lots of friends who happen to be gay, and I honestly don't see how you could look them in the eyes and say no, you don't get the same liberties as your neighbors. It's a civil rights issue that i'm sure will pass in the next 20 years. The sanctity of marriage argument is a joke. There are tons of marriages that many would regard as sacrilegious in regards to what marriage "should" be. Imo, if you support the divorcing of married couples, you're throwing out any regards to the sanctity of marriage you might hold. Also, Bible condemns gluttony way more than homosexuality. Food for thought.
