On a scale of 1-10, how painful do you think blood tests are?

I would say a solid 11. I had an arm removed / amputated once because of blood loss. Then two years later I had my left leg removed. (I have avoided blood test at all costs now. I bribe my doctor to make false results now.) [Edited on 08.07.2012 8:38 PM PDT]

I guess a 6 at the most. If you don't stare at the needle too much it doesn't hurt so bad.

I'm scared of needles, so it isn't so much the pain, but the overwhelming fear and losing consciousness is the hard part.

9/10 I have a fear of needles... I hyperventilate.

The worst part about blood tests is the fear of needles. If you can get over that, it's not a big deal. I'd rather get a blood test than a scrape on my knee from falling, if that puts it into perspective.

Last time I got my blood taken the guy said "You're going to feel a little prick, but I promise you.. its not me."

If a prick, like 4/10. If a needle, which is what they usually need, 450/10

A simple blood draw? Maybe a 1, it's just a small stinging sensation.

Not bad at all. I would say a 1. I get a blood test done once a year, so I guess it's no big deal to me.

0. Honestly I felt nothing except pressure from the band they put around your arm.

1. I'm so used to being pricked with needles, whether it be anesthesia during a surgery, or morphine because I broke a bone, getting my blood tested doesn't hurt at all.

A 2, 3 at worst. Assuming 1 is nothing, 10 is horrific. I donate blood regularly and the only time it hurts is when they needle pulls on the vein so they have to remove it. To be honest, the finger prick is what hurts the most!

Got some blood taken last weekend, it completely depends on the person taking the blood. Someone new at it might have to try a few times = more pain. The girl who did mine got it first try and it felt like less than a pinch.

1 (Basically 0) During my last one I found out that I have an abnormally high amount of protein and only 6% normal levels of Factor VIII.

1 People should rightfully be afraid of needles, but a simple blood draw doesn't bother me.

Not much more then any other injection. It stays in and is very uncomfortable, and I can understand how it's absolute hell for people who are afraid of needles.

Only blood draw I have ever had that hurt was drawn from my foot. Other than that blood test just sting a little.

Never had a blood test, but donating blood was about a 1 or 2.

I say its like a 3. When I am sick and get blood work done it always seems more painful then it really is.
