There should be a forum where you can go to and post to appeal your ban.
Who else agrees?
Posted by: dazarobbo No. Those are private matters between the user and we moderators. Unless... what if you posted there and only you and all the moderators could see your post?
This, but otherwise, it'd be a fun idea! haha.

If we would need to appeal our bans it would mean that: 1) It's someone who doesn't know the rules or is angry. or 2) The moderator did a poor job.
Posted by: Al1757XNA I have total faith in the mods, so this forum is totally useless.
I don't know personally I feel like the more I try to be involved the more I shouldn't post on these things because of the mods. Just saying. A while back I was staying active as much as possible and got banned for what imo was unfair and now that I've been back trying to stay active I've been warned already. I think that some people can do whatever they want and others can not.

I don't really like this idea.

What would accomplish this, we, be able to watch their appeals? I'm just curious. [Edited on 08.01.2012 12:59 PM PDT]
Posted by: arch4ng13 I would stick to PM'ing.

Posted by: FALSE R3ALITYx Just don't get banned. Nip this whole "court" thing in the bud.
Sometimes that would help but there are some scenarios that could use an appeal such as: A thread is created with moderate discussion value. Then a user posts something in response to the topic. The OP then changes the thread to something that is asking for a carpet ban. The user that responded legitimately to the original topic is now banned for something they had almost no control over.
Posted by: defnop552 Would randon impartial members be picked to serve as a jury, who would decide wether the defendant was guilty or not guilty verdict? THAT I'd like to see. :-)
It would turn into a popularity contest. For that to work the username would need to be hidden, which means the thread would have to be kept from them, which means the jury could take the quote out of context.
Posted by: dazarobbo Unless... what if you posted there and only you and all the moderators could see your post?
And perhaps the forum is invisible to everyone, unless you're either a moderator or you're banned.

It sounds annoying.
Then don't post there.
Posted by: vanert I... kind of think this would be interesting..
I could see this as being a more of a mod council which no one could win or best.

That kind of stuff should not be seen freely by the public.
Posted by: spartain ken 15
Posted by: CrazzySnipe55 Ban appeals are not a thing anymore as of March 28th this year. You cannot appeal a ban. Link for reference.
I am pretty sure you still can. You may not get a ban completely appealed but you can get some shortened.
I'm just telling you (all) what whatever webteam member wrote that has to say on the subject.

Yeah, that would not end well. Let it remain private.

I think bans for the most part are between the mod and the user. The ONLY time you should make any ban public is if you believe as a whole a certain rule should be removed for the site. As in, you are making the thread about the site not your ban.
