Do you know why? AP/Honors classes in my state above 4.0 weighting.
I don't know, that's why its easier in Canada to apply to Universities in the States (academically wise anyways) because all you need is to get 86% in your subjects because that will give you the highest possible GPA. To apply to Canadian universities, you need to push your percentage as high as you can get) Here's what they give you. A in an AP course: 4.5 A (86% or above): 4.0 B (72%- 85%): 3.5 C+ (66%-72%): 3.0 Below, that I don't really know. So most kids wanting to go to US schools here take all the APs they can and push for that 86. Thats why OP's scale is foreign to me.
Yeah, I've also been told some colleges like people from outside the country. An A in my school is above a 93, which is a 4.0 for unweigheted classes. For AP, it is a 5.0 and for honors it's a 4.5.

 • I graduated from high school with a 4.3ish GPA on the following scale: AP and honors courses A - 5 B - 4 C - 3 F - 0 Regular courses A - 4 B - 3 C - 2 F - 0 On the scale you linked, I'm guessing it would be somewhere in the 3.75-3.9 range. [Edited on 06.26.2012 5:50 PM PDT]

 • Unweighted was 3.8, but weighted is hard to compare because they used a ridiculous system (One semester I had over a 5.6).
