Banshee plot hole in mass effect 3

In Mass effect 2, Samara said there were only 3 ardat-yakshi in existence, her daughters. So if banshees are made from reaperfied ardat-yakshis, where the -blam!- did the reapers get them all from? She says it when you're asking her about arkdat-yakshi when she requests your help for he loyalty mission. This guy found it.
Posted by: Mister Blargman 3:45 in this video. Wow, OP. I hadn't even thought of that...maybe the monastery was mostly empty and the Reapers were forcibly converting them to better suit their purposes?
[Edited on 06.22.2012 7:07 PM PDT]

 • According to Samara, these are the only three living Ardat-Yakshi. However, less severe cases are supposedly more common, including up to 1% of the population. There is a scale of sorts. Samara was saying that her daughters were the only ones suffering from that severe of a case.

 • Did they ever say Banshees weren't just regular Asari, and they just happened to use the people at the Monastery first?

 • I never thought about that. I guess it doesn't make too much sense, and there would only be a small number of Banshees available throughout the whole game, instead of the amount of Banshees that we have to end up fighting.

 • Also, If Ardat Yakshi are so rare, how could the Reapers field them on multiple planets simultaneously? Each Banshee lost would be a substantial loss for the Reaper forces.
