I know Bungie is still dark at the moment but could the iOS app be spiced up a bit more? My argument is somewhat invalid though; I have no real way to explain how to make it any better. It just seems a bit.. bland. I can understand it used to house Halo statistics and all but now all I use it for is checking Bungie tweets and waiting for new "Love, Bungie". (Waits patiently at Love, Bungie screen)

They have said that Bungie Mobile is an ongoing project. I know that they are trying to work on forum support for the mobile app, but between the site update and new game, I'm not sure how much weight the app has in terms of priority.
-
All in due time my friend!
-
The only time I see it getting updated is when Destiny is released (for stats.)

Windows Phone app would be good. Get corgi onto it. He's obviously a whiz with xaml/c#. To be quite honest, I have no problem using the forums on my phone, but I credit that to the phone mostly. [Edited on 05.24.2012 7:00 AM PDT]

it could be spiced up, it takes so little effort with apples SDK it could use more lov, Bungie 4 starters, direct forum use, an insider tab where they could discuss whatever bungie does in their freetime, and mabey some more podcasts or some other media. well, there you are Bungie, step up to the plate and blow your audience away, u did with Halo...

I wish they would add mobile forum support.
-
It needs a very simple way about the forums without having to visit the full site.

The Forums...
Posted by: Avatar Korra What else would they put on it?

Posted by: DE4THINC4RN4TE Forums are a must. Opening up safari on my Iphone to use forums is a huge pain because the site is well built for mobile.
This does not make sense to me. How different would it be to open up your phone's browser and visit the forums then loading up the app and visiting the forums? It seems to be the same thing to me.
Posted by: edableshoe Forum usage is what it really needs.
It will soon.

I only want forum support for it.

There isn't much else to really put on it.
They Could take almost everything off besides seeing your friends and messages and then add the community forum to it so you can post easier on your mobile to see if it would work. It would be a test run to know if they could add more forums. [Edited on 05.23.2012 8:50 AM PDT]

FORUM SUPPORT, please!
Posted by: zoobkillerninja Like i have said before they should add the forums to the app...
or they should just make the proper site not a nightmare to navigate. remember all the changes they'd have to make to this place (as in the full site) to make it more useable on a mobile device would also make it more useable on a fully fledged PC. so, would you rather have them split their effort to produce working apps that, let's face it, next to no one uses, or would you rather they just make this place as good as possible? We're all rocking smartphones with gigaflops and megabits on tap, we shouldn't have to use stripped back versions of websites.
Posted by: ctjl96 This; the site itself detects when you're on an iPhone/iPod and automatically brings you to the mobile page, but you have the option to browse the desktop version if you wish. I'm sure the app would just grab the forum data and then display it in the app rather than displaying a mobile version of the site.
Related picture is related. During the period of information, the mobile site is quite useful. It is extremely easy to read updates when I am away on my phone. I do believe that was the main objective (assuming) of the version at the time. The app build on this fact. It included stats as well. The app does what most of the site can do so it is not really lacking in features but rather lacking in features you find interesting.
-
The problem is that a lot of what we love about the experience of bungie.net is stripped on mobile.
-
Have you tried adding sugar?

Like i have said before they should add the forums to the app...
Posted by: some1 with guns True, but getting to the forums via the main nav bar on an iPod makes me want to kick puppies. Hover over+iPod=Bad.
Hahahaaha. Hoodlums stole my iPod a few weeks ago, but I couldn't help but laugh at remembering myself continually tapping that damn button trying to not click it, but simply hover over it. Also yeah, I don't know why but Duardo's got a thing for bugs and improvements. It's kinda uncanny.
Posted by: Duardo If you've ever looked at the forums on your phone (at least on the iPhone), the text actually increases so you can view topics easier.
True, but getting to the forums via the main nav bar on an iPod makes me want to kick puppies. Hover over+iPod=Bad.
Posted by: ctjl96
Posted by: talon2000
Posted by: Avatar Korra Usually mobile forums are not a great idea. Take a look at Halo Waypoint, their forums have a mobile version. That's one of the reasons I never go there, the mobile version makes me want to bang my head against the wall.
You wouldn't have to use it if you didn't like it. You can still use the forums the way you use them now. An app doesn't change that.
This; the site itself detects when you're on an iPhone/iPod and automatically brings you to the mobile page, but you have the option to browse the desktop version if you wish. I doubt it's as simple as that. Basically the only things I would add are what our friendly neighborhood ninja has said. Duardo's got this. EDIT: Maybe give some love to the "Love Bungie" section.
