God: A Reassuring Fable (Carl Sagan)
After some positive responses from my previous threads (as well as tons of Sagan love), I've decided to post yet another link to a famous someone-or-other.
This time it happens to be the late, great Carl Sagan, famous Cosmologist and science educator. (1934-1996)

Last time I checked, God was part of a religion. If the thread would have said "Carl Sagan" and gone on to discuss the man, without implying that Religion is stupid and people who believe in it are morons, I would have been fine..

If you click the facebook link in the description there's a lot more videos and other Sagan content. Keep up the logic, Charlie.

Meh, all this looks like to me is a bunch of atheists flaunting "Ha, we don't believe in a god/gods, we're better than the rest of you!" Cool. Opinions opinions. Sounds like many here like to worship Carl Sagan as their god if anything.

Don't act innocent about "discussing [our] lack of faith" and saying others shouldn't be offended; this thread and the OP's post are clearly critical and offensive to others. You certainly have the right to discuss it normally, but the rules here try to prevent threads from outwardly insulting large groups of people to avoid flamewars...like this. I have watched all of Cosmos and read up on him a lot. He is right when it comes to religion and such. I'm an atheist and an anti-theist, but I have been banned before for religious discussion and one more and I'm permabanned, so that is all I'm gonna say about this.

I simply think that Sagan has a very good opinion and video on the subject, I think you'll agree if you watch it.
