I mean, BC2 did it right, they added new modes after launch that were clearly not planned (onslaught was glitchy as hell), but it was original content. You see what I mean?

Since halo 4 is almost guaranteed to sell that well it's best to make plans beforehand.[/quote] Hey, you're 100% correct mate. Point is just, if it does so well, why not just offer the DLC for free as a thank you to the fans to maintain the support for sequels? It's not like they need the money.

Point is just... how come so many great games introduced new contents with "patches," and yet the modern idea is that the AAA titles needs to sell content that could have easily made it onto the disk.

When the DLC becomes available, you get it for "free". Seeing as it was paid for initially, every time a map pack comes out, you will be able to download it for free.

hell yes im buying this basically getting 9 maps with it and i dont know how many dlc's they will be distributed across unless they all come in one massive dlc. and map packs are usually 800 points anyways which is like a £10er. only thing that made me cringe was reading in the article about weapon skins and armour skins, but thats just me :)

The fact that you get the next three map packs sounds good but the weapon skins and specializations sound a bit iffy.

Think of it like the GoW 3 Season Pass, but hopefully with less disc-locked content.

I'll be buying it, but I think it's a but unfair that special edition owners get earlier access to an objective advantage in the game. It's like unlockable abilities and weapons. I hate that -blam!-. Still, extended FUD miniseries, stuff for my Avatar and some AR skins will do nicely. Not to mention 9 maps that would otherwise be DLC. [Edited on 05.16.2012 9:12 AM PDT]

$99 is about £60, and that's better than forking out for all those MS Points, so I think this will be the first limited edition game I buy.
