Has Sony won the console war?

Honestly, unless Halo 4 is amazingly awesome, I can't see any reason to recommend the 720 to anyone. PS3 has action adventure on a lock, it has better fighters, it has exclusive shooters, and now it has smash brothers, the only thing really keeping Nintendo in the race in my eyes.

When all is said and done, unlike the last generation where there was only one really successful console of the four, all three current generation consoles have been huge money makers even with the bumps in the road each has gone over.

Sony does NOT have SUPER SMASH BROS. It has a knock off of it. Nobody likes knock offs. This console war is coming to end and so far. Xbox seems to have taken the lead, especially since PSN went down for like a month a while back.

So, your saying them copying everything from Nintendo is going to make them win? Are you stupid... first the Playstation Move or AKA The Wii Controller with a stupid ball on top. Now them make a Super Smash Bros. game with their own characters and name.. copying. Those are the only ones i remember anyway. I believe the PS3 would have won part of the race or most of it if it wasnt for two factors. 1. They would have rocketed ahead if the Blu-Ray discs would have taken off a lot faster and made the DVD obsolete like everyone thought, but it didnt. 2. After PSN was down for that month or whatever it was what like last year I know about 10-15 people who switched to a Xbox and i only know like 20 people with PS3s. Nintendo has been out of the race for a while considering they havent really launched any new things. Microsoft made the new Xbox, which is pretty awesome and alot smaller than evertyhhing except the wii. The Move made people realize you could get better games which the PS3 has and play them like the Wii. Then Kinect came out which appealed to more of a family console and the littler kids. TL;DR these wars cant be won. Every company will keep advancing and advancing. People will prefer whichever one they want. [Edited on 04.27.2012 2:31 PM PDT]

Sony is in massive amounts of @#$$, most of their sectors, including SEN are making losses. So no, in the war of companies, money is all that matters. For us, the consumer, it does not, we aren't exactly involved in the war directly.. [Edited on 04.27.2012 2:17 PM PDT]

The "console wars" are silly fights in which no one can really win. Xbox fans aren't really going to care about Sony's take on Supersmash Bros (*cough*like me*cough), and PS3 fans don't care about the next Halo game coming out. The only thing to "fight" over in this "war" are casual consumers, which is how each publisher makes most of their profits. A casual consumer isn't really going to care about exclusives, considering most high quality titles come from third party devs now-a-days. All casuals really care about is accessible games they can play with their friends, so they generally pick the console most of their friends play. Just play your game and have fun. Don't make it into a massive "war" between two factions just because of your choice in gaming hardware. It would be like Mac users insulting PC owners just because they don't own a Mac. Oh wait. The #2 spot remains a tight race. Whenever the PS3 comes within grasp of over taking the 360 in sales Microsoft manages to pull ahead again. It looks like the 360 will remain the second best selling console this generation however that could still change. The 360 is the favorite to come second sales wise and I personally think it will. I finally have a reason to play my playstation for more than 2 hours every 5 months. amazing. Still doesn't beat the good selection of Xbox though.
