Most of the kids at my school that wear anything related to gaming like a Halo hoodie or a Left 4 Dead t-shirt get talked down on. Most of them are kind of weird or no one really knows them so that doesn't help the image. I don't care for it but I would never wear anything game related like a Mass Effect hoodie or anything at all.
The only exception to gaming related clothes I would wear is a plain black t shirt with a Gears of War omen on it. Not because I like the game but because I like how it looks it seems to be my style and since my friends aren't hardcore gamers and the only game big in between them is Gears of War they would think it's pretty cool / not care.
Honestly I know most people don't care what other people think of them so I understand if I was into game clothing I wouldn't care about people laughing behind my back as long as I was happy.
So what do you think?
Is it begging to be laughed at?
Is it just something no one would care about?
Is it something people give compliments on?
Posted by: halomaster10144 It's pretty -blam!- stupid to wear to school. You're essentially saying that you're beyond an average gamer, and to the point where you're probably somewhat of a dork/loser. All I ever really wear is American Eagle.
That's why being an adult is great. Nobody really gives a -blam!-. Admittedly, I had the same outlook on clothing when I was in high school (and the same style as you, too). Currently I only have five gaming shirts: BE A HERO (Haiti Charity ODST Shirt), Castle Crashers, PAX 2011, Burn Bright Burn Blue, and an HFCS shirt. I normally wear nice button down shirts or polos when I go out to bars or parties but nothing like the American Eagle, Aeropostale, and Hollister shirts that make you look like a walking billboard, like I did when I was in high school and parts of college. If there are any logos on the clothing I wear, they are barely visible. Unless it's a college shirt but that has more to do with pride than being showy for the sake of being showy. Just hanging around the house, going to a buddy's house? I'll throw on a t-shirt and my gaming shirts are in the mix. e: That said, I respect those who wear gaming shirts and sport their hobbies proudly because they're a hell of a lot more secure with themselves than I was when I was in high school, which is a much more admirable trait than buying some crappy overpriced gaudy clothes - and that isn't a knock on expensive clothing; it's a knock on overpriced clothing. There's a difference. [Edited on 04.08.2012 9:48 PM PDT]

I haven't seen people get made fun of for their clothing since I left Jr. High School. Grow up.
-
I don't really care. If you want to wear a gaming shirt, go ahead. I personally wouldn't because it's not my "style" per se.
-
I'm fine with most of them, as long as they aren't those annoying triforce ones you see everyone wearing.
-
I wear my Mario clothing all the time. People never make fun of me. At least not to my face. It's all about being confident really. If you sulk around and be a loser then, yeah, people are gonna be like okay well I'm not going to talk to him. I have actually had a handful of people compliment my clothes.
-
I wish i had more "game" clothing, if you like something show pride in it. Its like if people like a band they'll wear that bands shirt, same with shows or movies why not games?
-
I have a black Portal tee. It's pretty cool. Also, a 'I MAED A GAEM WIT ZOMBIES IN IT!!1!1!' shirt.
-
"Hey, I'm a nerd! Laugh at me" What kind of downie would wear one?
-
I have some game shirts and I like them, but I usually stop wearing them if the game gets old.
-
Zelda Tee-Shirtssssss!!!!! :D
-
Right now, I'm wearing a Halo t shirt, and a Portal hoodie.
-
As long as it isn't a super cheesy, in-yo-face reference, I'm fine with it. [Edited on 04.08.2012 9:21 PM PDT]

I once wore this Super Mario World shirt with Mario riding Yoshi. No one GAF.
-
Sometimes I wear my bungie employee shirt :3
-
If someone wears a, say, Halo shirt with the Legendary shield on it, I take notice, but still mind my business.
-
People shouldn't give a -blam!- what someone else wears, as long as it is appropriate for the place. imo, subtle game related clothing is best.
-
that N7 hoodie is ballin though...
-
We have a really s*** uniform we have to wear at my school, so no freedom of opinion. We did have to wear a blazer, but now only 5% of the people in my year even bother anymore.
-
Honestly I haven't a single piece of video game related clothing. I have seen a few people where I work with MW3 shirts. I also saw a Mass Effect N7 hoodie. I don't think much of them.
-
>On the flood >People are talking down on Gaming style clothes like they have a social reputation to protect Oh please children. I have an N7 shirt like this, and I wear my BBBB shirt on occasion. No one ever talks down on them, I usually get complements and people ask what it's from. Sorry guys, I'm not 12 anymore. I don't care what people think of people that wear gaming clothes.
-
I think its a nice way to express your enthusiasm for a certain game. I myself have one. And my friend has a kingdom hearts one and I congratulated him on it myself and people don't really make fun of him. I think people need to grow up around your parts.
-
I'll wear my Assassins Creed shirt every once in awhile.
-
*looks down* *is wearing a Fujimi Kaido Forza 4 shirt* They're okay.
-
I probably wouldn't wear it.
