What are your views on "game" clothing.

Most of the kids at my school that wear anything related to gaming like a Halo hoodie or a Left 4 Dead t-shirt get talked down on. Most of them are kind of weird or no one really knows them so that doesn't help the image. I don't care for it but I would never wear anything game related like a Mass Effect hoodie or anything at all. The only exception to gaming related clothes I would wear is a plain black t shirt with a Gears of War omen on it. Not because I like the game but because I like how it looks it seems to be my style and since my friends aren't hardcore gamers and the only game big in between them is Gears of War they would think it's pretty cool / not care. Honestly I know most people don't care what other people think of them so I understand if I was into game clothing I wouldn't care about people laughing behind my back as long as I was happy. So what do you think? Is it begging to be laughed at? Is it just something no one would care about? Is it something people give compliments on? [Edited on 04.08.2012 6:12 PM PDT]

  • I don't see anything wrong with them. I often wear my Lost Planet 2 VS shirt when relaxing at home. However i can't comment on wearing them to school considering as in England most schools wear school uniforms.

  • I wore a few shirts in high school related to halo, but not on a daily basis. They were just shirts that I had, and I just threw on basically whatever my hand caught first in my closet. People didn't talk down on me, mainly because I really don't think people gave a damn. I had a couple of comments on it, but all I had to do was take an intimidating step towards the person who made the comment and they went and cowered in the corner like a little girl.

  • If you like it wear it, don't let what others think affect what you do and wear.

  • I have a Noble Team t-shirt and Bonk! Atomic Punch one as well. I'm usually complimented for my shirts. Maybe because most of my friends are nerds...

  • I don't own a lot of gamer shirts, but I do wear the ones I own like my N7 Hoodie. I would defiantly wear this.

  • I honestly don't have a single piece of gaming-related attire, but I just can't be assed to go and buy some gaming shirts when I have tons of perfectly fine (plain or Nike or Breaking Benjamin) shirts. Although truthfully, some of them are so old and a bit faded that I really shouldn't wear them, but whatever. I'd wear a Bungie shirt or something, though. But I think there is a point of over-doing it, to the point where you might come off as an obsessive gamer. [Edited on 04.09.2012 7:12 AM PDT]

  • I'm fine with it and so are others. In fact, I have two video game shirts and I have not been made fun of.

I'll wear shirts that subtly reference games.

  • I tend not to wear things with writing or context of any sort, and that goes for games too. No, especially games. I don't want to give people a reason to judge me, because as you rightfully said OP, people get talked down for this stuff.

  • I wear RvB shirts all the time to school, I've gotten some weird looks at times and some questions but I never get talked down on. I don't think it's really begging to be laughed at, it's a form of expression why should it be?

  • The only thing close to "game" clothes I have are a few shirts from an MLG event a couple years ago. I normally only wear them when I work out or am sitting around the house. Cus of how loose and comfortable they are.

  • I sometimes wear my se7enth column shirt, only one person really gets what it is and what it means. If you guys have a problem with gaming clothes you'd hate me. I wear my little pony shirts, and get compliments on it, but just as many would sooner call me a -blam!- or some other derogatory remark. [Edited on 04.09.2012 6:30 AM PDT]

  • The only "game" clothing I have is a pair of casual pants/pajama bottoms that my mother got me a few years ago. Otherwise, I don't care what I/others wear. Although, I went to a school of 200 and can honestly say I know of no-one who got bullied for what they wore.

  • I wear my ME3 t-shirt from time to time. Nothing wrong with it. Just a t-shirt. If it were something feminine, and a guy was wearing it, I'd understand the criticism.

  • I don't see why people should mock them for that. I'd rather wear something I like than be a living advertisement for some other stupid clothing company that makes children in China work their ass out... I wear a splinter cell t-shirt from time to time and nobody seems to care much...
