I've never used fortification, but I didn't really like barrier.
barrier was really useful in mass effect 2, but in ME3 it doesnt recharge your shields. :(
It doesnt? Thats why I used it for Insanity in ME2. Nvm that then. Using Fortification. Thanks :)
Yeah me too. If you hit it once it doesnt do anything, if you did again shepard does this weird animation and enrgy shoots out of him but you still dont have any shields. IDK its hard to explain
Posted by: Butane123
Posted by: nuchy barrier was really useful in mass effect 2, but in ME3 it doesnt recharge your shields. :(
Yeah, they kinda destroyed the best part about barrier, fortification, and tech armor. Than and even if you have it active, you have a constant reduction in your power's ability to recharge. Marksman would be pretty good on soldier, as long as you don't use single shot weapons.
Meh, not an option =/

I find Reave to be helpful.

Your weapons aren't going to be as effective against certain monsters in specific scenarios, and you'll find yourself trapped in quite a few levels and will have to retry it again...
I only ever died once on Normal so I think Ill handle myself just fine. Didnt have trouble in ME2 so I doubt this will be different. Im not sure if you guys are just full of -blam!- or if you really suck as Soldier class...
lolnormal.
Well no -blam!-. Like I said I beat Me2 on insanity no problem. Heard that Me3 is the same or easier. Im gonna go with what I said before and assume full of -blam!-.

i did it using incendary, disruption and warp ammo depending on what i was fighting i.e using incendiary against armour, disrupt against sheilds and warp against everything else.
Posted by: Loktar OGar The Pre-Order Assault rifle really is amazing.
...I Used it once, and swapped it out for the semi-auto as soon as I could.

I am on the last mission, and I did Soldier. Pretty sure it would've been easier on another character, because Soldier's abilities really suck ass, but it was still pretty easy. I just maxed out Disruptor Ammo and Concussive Shot, and used my companions abilities every time they were up. The Pre-Order Assault rifle really is amazing.

Best run to do ME3's Insanity is infiltrator... use invisibility to move through tough situations, use garrus and liara to deal with shields and spam stasis to get a tactical advantage... For bonus power, I chose Javik's special biotic power, it slows down enemies and make a great combo with liara's warp... Also deteriorates armor against brutes quite effectively...
Posted by: Garrux
Posted by: AaronG67 I Can't advise you what to pick, because you're a soldier, the most "IMMA COD PLAyER lOL DURR" class in the game, but trust me...
Thats literally the most untrue statement I've ever heard.. You do realise soldiers have powers and talents like every other class right? You use your weapons a little more certainly but I really dont see what you guys are even talking about. Anyways, fortification is what I used on my first playthrough and it was really handy. I upped it to reduce damage. Slows down power use but not much.
Oh yes, I'm sure he's very sorry. It's different from playing CoD because every once in a while you slow down time OUTSIDE of scripted events or spam a concussion shot. [Edited on 03.19.2012 3:44 PM PDT]

Barrier and Fortification are really bad, imo. I used Barrier, but probably should have went with something different. On the last mission though, so no point in changing now.

I'm a vanguard. Insanity is surprisingly easy on mass effect 3. I Can't advise you what to pick, because you're a soldier, the most "IMMA COD PLAyER lOL DURR" class in the game, but trust me... The game is easy. Except for London. London is a bastard.

Well then I'm not too sure, don't those 2 both reduce power time? Cause I practically spam my powers on insanity. I probably wouldn't use either of them anyway...
It isn't different for each class. He hasn't unlocked it.
Well in ME1 it was the nicest because weapons werent so limited. Its still fun in ME3 though. Probably will mix it up next time. [Edited on 03.19.2012 3:19 PM PDT]
