I seriously believe the enemy is mainly going to be ONI aka Office on Naval Intelligence.Because they are known to set up at installations like these and known to sacrifice UNSC personnel.Think about it.It definitely shows in the books, games, and minifilms from waypoint.

They didn't go extinct, they left and in this article its hinting that the players might see some forerunners (Also some new gameinformer pictures) http://gamerant.com/halo-4-screenshots-details-game-informer-riley-142979/ [Edited on 04.12.2012 12:51 PM PDT]

The elites and grunts could be not the ones we know it is probably a rebelion against each other and if you seen halo legends elites were against each other so my guess is that those are new type of covenent and probably the new type and the flood might be in it it depends the campaign of the story of the game and the forunners cant be in the game because if u understand halo legends and the books they went extinct after bringing life back on each planet and they remain dead but not their armour [Edited on 04.12.2012 12:05 PM PDT]
-
My guess is it is going to be a mix of covenant baddies, flood, and possibly forerunners. The forerunners are such a mysterious group, I'd love to know who or what they are.

Halo 4 enemies my theory ~ elites ~ grunts ~ brutes ? ~ hunters ~ precursors ~ forerunner ~ oni ~ spartan 4's just my guess =} [Edited on 04.12.2012 8:21 AM PDT]
-
Precursors they will once again test Humanity to see if they are worthy to carry on the mantle.
-
No. Simply no.
-
I have no idea, but i dont think the enemy is human(s) I got the feeling this game will be good

Please, take a minute to Google the definition of caveat:
Caveat can be shorthand for Latin phrases such as: Caveat lector, "let the reader beware" Caveat emptor, "let the buyer beware" Caveat venditor, "let the seller beware"
This "supposed" creature is nothing but a warming to the lector that the sources are not confirmed, it even says so right there on the text! Seriously people, a little reading comprehension and a quick Google search can do wonders!

Well, some of the images recently released shows the Chief fighting Elites and Grunts. So...Covenant remnants?
-
I believe that the main enemy is the precursors, as they were meant to create/be the flood, and flood like terrain can be seen in halo 4 first look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6UL63Zo-uo
-
The enemy wont be food.
-
The enemy has to be something we know of. There is no way 343i are going to pull a new enemy from nowhere. I'm guessing it's Forerunners and it MAY be ONI. These Spartan Ops missions may be having you go after John to kill him.
-
Lets just wait and see.
-
I'm just wondering if the Militant faction of the Sanghelli will play any roll (from Glasslands)

Well now it's Covenant space pirates and...something else.

Seriously, you need to be on date with current Halo canon before stating things like "Forerunners are dead." or "No Spartan IV's." At least do some research before posting.
-
Forerunners aren't dead.
Posted by: Eskimo Luvz You Whoever the enemy is has telekinesis. It was a leaked footage thing. Follow Halo4Follower on youtube he comes out with brand new news constantly that actually shows some good stuff.
That was a rejected concept, check Nathan Walpole's site, he is an employee at 343.
Posted by: tpatrickcj4a ok forerunners are dead. been established already. covenant are a remote possibility. precursors are only viable option at this point.
The enemy will most likely be the remaining Precursor. But it is fun to think of far-fetched possibilities.

ok forerunners are dead. been established already. covenant are a remote possibility. precursors are only viable option at this point.

With the new leaks you can see that most of the enemies are covenant and Halo Forerunners.
