My theory of Halo 4 enemies
I seriously believe the enemy is mainly going to be ONI aka Office on Naval Intelligence.Because they are known to set up at installations like these and known to sacrifice UNSC personnel.Think about it.It definitely shows in the books,games,and minifilms from waypoint.

First, 343i confirmed that the Knights, Watchers, and Crawlers are all Prometheans. With that a fact all I did was go on to say I am interested to learn about the story of the sphere in the trailer. Each Promethean enemy sounds like a better version of Halo enemies. I wish I could go into a rant about how superior they are but I can't since I don't know enough about the new enemies (plus, most of the facts are scattered). For now, all I can say is that I hate nearly every enemy in Reach, even Engineers.

Prometheans were the highest ranks in the warrior servant cast which is not the highest cast in the forerunner hierachy. Also it is known that AI go rampant over time so these AI defenses could of gone rampant over the thousands of years they've been left alone much like how Guilty Spark started going rampant. Also they are promethean AI defenses as it has been confirmed by 343i so is that good enough reason?[/quote] I know, im telling you they are the highest in millitary, obviously they arent higher than life workers. I do not consider 343 rampanant, he was doing his number 1 priority "protect his own ring", and even if u consider him rampant then it was by the force of someone. Confirmed enemies are Covenant Pirates and Prometheans, along with a host of unannounced enemies under the control of the Prometheans, (Ex. the animal looking things and the small floating probes that you saw in the gameplay video at E3, AND more yet to be announced). It is usually inhabited by a high ranking forerunner for protection example, the Didact.[/quote] That is most likely what it will be. However, we can't say for certain yet.
