As it was said, the Pirate lords were in a dire situation as they were dwindling in numbers. Blackbeard led the Queen Anne's revenge which had the power to turn enemy ships against it's crew as he did so to defeat the Black Pearl later on, although where was he when Pirates were on the practical brink of extinction?
Talking about At World's End, are others disappointed that you didn't get to see the Pirate lords in action? I would have loved to see them take down the British armada with all their techniques and experience. Showing that numbers don't win a war. Seriously, as they watch the Black Pearl be shred to pieces they sat back and watched, why not help?!

Sorry for pulling this deep from 6 feet under. I was asked this question just now, so went to look it up and saw this thread. Wanted to point out, because many people forget, myself included, that Davy Jones also had a Peg Leg. It's possible that Blackbeard was thinking his demise was with Davy Jones and wanted to stay far away from him. And hearing about his defeat, he probably felt more secure, and sailed back to familiar waters, I guess you could say.

1 ReplyBlackbeard is/was not one of the Nine Pirate lords so he was not present/invited to the Brethren Court. He acts alone from them. Also see as his zombie quatermaster had recently predicted his death at the hands of a one legged man it became his priority to stay away from a mass gathering of one-eyed, peg-legged hooligans who might turn on each other at any moment. The only time he'd be near pirates is if he was trying to get away from them.

He was at the OTHER end of the world. And Davy Jones was more badass.

One would think that he would be more crazy seeing how he can control ships and what not.
This, blackbeard was not even close to the hardass I imagined him to be.
Am I the only one quite impressed? :S

The Royal Navy was the best navy in the world, it had both the best ships most skilled and trained crews in the world. Realistically if an engagement with the pirates and the British happened the Pirates would of gotten their asses handed to them. I also think it was a really cheap thing when old mate (head of the fleet) just suddenly loses it and doesn't order his ship to return fire. [Edited on 03.11.2012 1:27 AM PST]
