For starters they are not genetically enhanced. They are selected for a spesific genetic marker.
Secondly that marker could be anything. Millions of humans have the possability of having it. They arent so special.

Wow..... Did you even read the books, yes they were Genetically enhanced (EDIT: I am sorry, they were not Genetically enhanced, they were physically Augmented to artificially introduce hormones that make them quickly and painfully go through puberty and give them better reaction times,), but they were also selected for that genetic marker, but millions don't have it, they have to be specific age, 5-7, and considering only 250 fit in that criteria, out of about 10+ planets each with billions of inhabitants, makes them all pretty special.
On topic. Considering Spartans have a distinct advantage, their MJOLNIR armor systems, In my opinion:
one on one combat, Spartan
Without their Mjolnir, one on one, Spartan
A squad of ODSTs (5) vs one Spartan, Spartan
A squad of ODSTs (5) vs one unarmored Spartan, 50/50
Every single ODST that ever lived (? probably alot) vs. Every single Spartan II that ever lived, (about 75), I don't know about this one, the ODSTs have a distinct numerical advantage so i'd give it to the ODSTs
Every single ODST that ever lived vs Every single Spartan that ever lived, I, II, and III, (About unknown number probably 50+75+900= approximately 1025) I would probably give this one to the Spartans. Up for discussion.
In an Awesomesauce contest. ODST.
As you can see by my opinion, an Odst can only win by having a large numerical advantage over the Spartans.
