In this list, I look at the 5 games made by Bungie (Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo ODST, Halo Reach) and see which were the best games. Heres the list.
5. HALO REACH
Being the last game that Bungie made, Halo Reach had cool new features like the new forge system, but the main gameplay lacked what made halo special. The game featured armor abilities and load outs, and even earned the nickname "Call of Halo". Its a shame, because if this game had classic Halo-like gameplay such as that in Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3, this would probably be the best game.
4. HALO ODST
Originally a DLC campaign that just grew bigger and bigger, Halo ODST brings you into the life of an ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper). The game is a fun new way to experience the fight against the Covenant, and introduced firefight mode. However the game was so expensive ($60) as part of the game was multiplayer mode, the same as in Halo 3. Assuming you already had Halo 3, half of the game you already had, and it wasn't worth paying $60, which is a big reason why people -blam!- about the game.
3. HALO 3
Halo 3 being my favorite was the final game against the covenant and the flood as you "finished the fight." The games graphics were amazing, and multiplayer was the best. The only reason why it isn't at a better spot on this list is because there are points from Halo 2 that Halo 3 didn't answer and were forgotten about.
Overall, great game.
2. HALO CE
A great way to start off the Halo series, Halo CE takes you into the life of John 117, a spartan super soldier. The game was the greatest for its time, and there isn't much to talk about besides how awesome it is. With that being said, whats #1...
1. HALO 2
This game was great. Great multiplayer, great campaign, great everything. Even though the ending wasn't the best, the game itself is amazing and the community agrees that it was the best Halo game made by Bungie.
That concludes my list. What do you think? Agree or disagree? Tell me why!
-
lmao. I didn't really know what to call it, so I just called it that.
-
why? Plus i'm looking at the top 10 halo games Bungie Made. Halo Wars and Halo CE Anniversary weren't Bungie games.
-
I didn't give it #2 spot just because of it was the first game. Halo 3 was my favorite game, but their are some things in Halo 2 Halo 3 forgot about. Thats why I had to bring halo ce #2. It was really close, and it took a while to figure out which one got which spot.

Bungie so stoopid.
The Universe Forum is for discussing Bungie Canon. Since this is not locked yet, I'm assuming this is acceptable. So don't insult me for trying to get people to post in the correct forums. Besides, any Halo related Forums are going to be moved to Waypoint anyway.

If it was an expansion pack why would it be $60? Why would it come in it's own case and disc? Why would it have it's own forum in the Game Forum? Why would it have it's own little section in the O Brave New World ViDoc? Can you answer me that? Not to mention everybody refers to it as a game including Bungie. Watch the ViDoc again. During the ODST part they refer to it as a game, if you choose to be in denial of all the other evidence that it's a game. [Edited on 01.05.2012 2:19 PM PST]

Bungie only made four Halo games. Halo 2 is the best Halo. So much was accomplished in it's awesome campaign. Halo 3 is the second best for it's smooth and refined multiplayer. Halo CE goes third. I don't think 1st place status should be given to CE simply because it was the first Halo. Reach is fourth by default, because it has the weakest campaign and poorly designed multiplayer.
-
Halo 3 ODST Halo: CE and Halo 2, tie. Reach doesn't even deserve a spot on the list. And, OP, your thoughts on ODST are completely ridiculous like ajw explains above.
Posted by: Twinkerdoodle 5. Halo ODST While the change of pace by playing an ODST was interesting, the storyline lacked considerably. I hated that there was no character development for The Rookie, and while the film noire thing was ok, it wasn't Halo. It was a detective flick with action that the protagonist didn't even compete in until the end. Not too interesting to me.
Whaaaaat?! Out of all the Halo games out now, ODST has got the most in-depth story of the lot. The Rookie wasn't supposed a character, he was a conduit for the player, one generic face amongst millions of other normal humans which made it easier to project ourselves into him. The film-noir thing definitely worked. There is no definitive style to Halo, it's always changing and evolving. The metaphorical structure of Dante's Inferno in both the main plot and Sadie's Story was by far the most detailed way Bungie have told a story, coupled with the sublime soundtrack and the massive city which feels alive every corner you turn when neon signs light up, sirens wail and ticket kiosks begin spitting out change to help guide you. The dynamic aspects were done amazingly. It was a detective story that worked, and worked very well. ODST is, by far, the most underrated Halo.

I disagree. 5. 4. Halo Reach I don't like putting Reach this far down on the list as I love the multiplayer, but the campaign was where it lacked. The storyline was interesting, but still not the classic Halo. I disagree vehemently with it being dubbed "Call of Halo". In actuality CE was meant to have a sprint feature. That was long before CoD had that add on. As for AA's, no other game has had that experience. You may have perks, but not different abilities that can be used at any time to change the tide of battle. It takes brains to outsmart opponents. 3. Halo 3 My second favorite multiplayer. Only Reach beats it in my opinion. The maps were spectacular, the graphics were state of the art at the time, and the story set it apart by tying up crucial loose ends and bringing a satisfying ending to the trilogy. The only thing I ever had against Halo 3 were small tweaks to the Forge, and how unbalanced the online play was thanks to an overpowered BR, even though I was good with it. 2. Halo 2 I love this game because of it's split amazingness in the multiplayer and the campaign. The balance of the multiplayer and number of ways a game could be played kept me coming back. Some of my best gaming memories are of stacking four Xbox's in a friends house and having some epic 8 v 8 action. It never got old. On top of that the campaign outlined what was to come. Why the elites fell from the Covenant, why the humans allied with the elites, and setting up the Ark as the central installation where the majority of Halo 3 would go down. The emotions coupled with incredible gameplay make this my nunber 2. 1. Halo CE This is where it all started for me. The multiplayer was flawed yes, but the gameplay never got old to me. Zooming in and taking down friends with the pistol during LAN parties, finally honing my skills as my teams sniper after years of playing with them, and we can't forget the campaign that made the modern FPS. Halo revolutionized what gaming was. The arsenal at your disposal, the ever changing storyline, the explosive ending that left you wanting more, a faceless protagonist who you could still relate to, knowing how helpless humanity was compared to the Covenant. Everything fit perfect to make way for the greatest FPS franchise to ever rock a system. CE started it all. It's what made me a Halo fan, and I'll be loyal to the end. Just saying, a top 5 list usually implies there is more then 5 options :P.

Good stuff. I would like to do that top 5 GAMES made by Bungie. 5. Gnop- It was funny, a Pong remake. 4. Weekend Warrior- OMG, this game. LOL Crap, I like the rest all equally. :3 Oni- Konoko kicks butt Marathon- A space Cyborg who goes around killing everything and having BOB-B-Qs. Pathways into Darkness- an eerier game into a mysterious pyramid. Myth- Blow stuff up Halo- 10 years of awesome. Halo was an awesome series but there are more games Bungie made that are equally as awesome in their own special ways. I liked all the Halo games and I really don't have many complaints.
