I had the two maps "Tombstone" and "Desolation" before the shut-down of Halo 2 Matchmaking of April 15th, 2010.

But I had lost the DLC maps after my profile had been corrupted.(Ofcourse instead of being smart and recovering my profile to a different xbox and then recovering it back to mine, I thought I was forced to delete all my memory from my harddrive. I have a 20 gigabyte HDD)
This article here says I can recover the two maps I have lost:

But when I attempt this, it does not work for me. I have already installed Halo 2 version 1.1 after the shut-down. Could that be the problem? Because I'm wondering if I am able to re-download the maps off of the original title screen of Halo 2 instead of Installment 1.1.
I have 3 HDD's but only one of them is compatable with XBox Original games. But this HDD has installment 1.1. So if I buy another 20 gigabyte Harddrive and insert Halo 2 will it still be installment 1.1? or will i have to buy a new XBox 360 alltogether? Am I doomed forever?
Posted by: xD3AD MAN LIVEx Glad you figured out your problem, but now could the good folk here help me solve an issue similar to that? I have a 60GB HDD and downloaded all the Halo 2 map packs before the LIVE discontinued. However, I had to get a new XBOX (Normal 360 with silver tray) post of that event. It still is compatible with original games and everything, but when I fire up my favorite game, no maps load. (Save the in-disc ones) What do?
Do you currently have installment 1.1 Halo 2? If not, I've seen a thread where someone had the same situation except only the map "lockout" wouldn't load for him. His other maps were fine however. If you don't have the installment 1.1 of Halo 2 I would recommend buying the Muliplayer Map Pack Disc for Halo 2. It has the latest patches that should fix any bugs your current version may have. If you already have the current 1.1 installment on your xbox from the Map Pack disc, I would just re-insert the Map Pack disc into the tray, re-install it onto your Xbox and just hope for the best.

So I'll have to go buy a transfer cable. Thanks for all the information!
Posted by: Chief077 And you're sure there's not a disc you can get?
I have the installation 1.1 Disc of Halo 2 which has all the map packs and bonus content except for the Blastacular Map Pack. Hence the 1.1 installment Disc was released in 2005, which was approximatly 2 years before the Blastacular Map Pack made its release in late 2007 on the main menu via Xbox Live. (This menu to download the map pack does not appear on the 1.1 Installment of Halo 2.) If that is not the disc you were asking about, then please verify.
Posted by: Chief077 Sorry I don't have an answer to your question, but I don't understand how only one of your HDD's is compatible? I thought they would all work...?
The HDD's are more complex than you may think. I still havn't exactly figured them out. I have a 20 Gigabyte HDD (Compatable with Xbox Originals) and I own 2-250 Gigabyte HDD's that don't work with Xbox Originals. When I try to attempt playing an Xbox Original game on either of the 250's this is the message that pops up on my guide menu: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- (X) Game Error ------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again." "For more help, visit www.xbox.com/support." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- OK ----------------------------------------------------------------------- yet still no luck with xbox.com. I have a variety of problems and I just don't know what to do about anything. [Edited on 11.15.2011 10:08 AM PST]
