Why doesn't Plankton just hire someone to buy a Krabby Patty?
Seriously he is trying everything to get a krabby patty but he can just hire someone for $$$ to buy a krabby patty and than that guy can give that krabby patty to Plankton.
Wouldn't that be the perfect plan?

Because then they couldn't sell dvd's or collectors editions of items by breaking the cliche they've so well created.

He moved spongebob to the krusty krab to steal a krabby patty and than he tried to put that krabby patty in a machine so the recipe would be revealed. There is no need to have the recipe, a krabby patty is all you would need.
