I'd appreciate an answer from a bungie employee or somebody that knows an extreme amount about halo Chech out this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ren6ZWH6paY
you may have to copy and paste that into your url bar, but this is the halo 3 trailer reversed and when you listen to the audio there is a secret message/poem. its pretty creeppy here is the translation in case you couldnt hear very well
I have walked among men and angels for 3000 years. Time has no end... No beginning... No purpose... I wander the earth seeking forgiveness for all my own crimes against God and man. I live to see death and destruction over the light. But the light cannot be extinguished. I live in a prison of my own demise. I am lost in time...
What do you guys think of this and how many hidden messages has bungie put out there like this one?
-
Posted by: CTN 0452 9 I got a little different version of the first one when I transcribed it, think of that what you may (words in brackets were difficult to discern because of other sounds): I have walked among men and angels for 3000 years. [the] time has no end, no beginning, no purpose. I wander the Earth seeking forgiveness for what my horrible crimes against god and man. I live to see death and destruction win over the light [and] the light cannot be extinguished. I live in a prison of my own demise. I am lost in time. This sounds too remorseful to be the Gravemind, and honestly it seems too recent to be any relic from the Forerunner-Flood war. It could be some AI on Earth that regrets what it has done. It almost sounds biblical. Maybe it hints that in the Haloverse some of the events in the bible both a) Happened and b) were influenced by forces relevant to the Halo canon.
Halo is loaded with Biblical allegories and themes, this wouldn't surprise me. And the Halo 2 Gravemind came off as being a little more remoresful or sad then the H3 Gravemind. Instead of sounding like a raging monster like in H3, he sounded tired, reflecting his age. So it won't be too surprising to if it were truly him. [Edited on 10.03.2011 2:42 PM PDT]

3000 years ago as of 2552 would be around the time of the Greco-Persian wars. It doesn't seem to be a gravemind reference, or a marathon reference. It's just another one of those weird, almost mystical sounding things in the game.

Actually, I'm pretty sure this is a marathon reference. I'll dig up the relevant stuff, but "3000 years ago" leaves little doubt. [Edited on 10.03.2011 2:39 PM PDT]
Posted by: ROBERTO jh
Posted by: xyzgoger46 and this lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjSs0-NhZhQ&feature=related
The Three Kingdoms could refer to the Three Inheritors Races: the Precursors, the Forerunners and Humanity. I'll have to give the other bits more thought.
Considering that that song plays during The Covenant, I think that "Three Kingdoms" is a reference to the 3 towers in the level. The "eyes of death" could refer to Sentinels or the Flood, but the following line says, "appears as sunlight on broken columns," which makes me think of the light bridge leading to the Citadel. Then, "there, the death of kingdom walking alone," seems to refer to Truth, as the next passage says, "trembling, lives for prayers of broken stones," which refers to the lie of the Covenant religion.

Definitely creepy, but I still think the first one is referring to the Prisoner. The second one...God knows what.

"Time has no beginning no end" *I have listened through rock and metal and time* "I live in a Prison of my own demise" Possible Timeless One/Gravemind connection anyone?
