If you pay very close attention, right before you trigger the cutscene in which Johnson jackks the Scarab, you can see bim and a few other marines, about to be executed, fighting off the Brutes, and Johnson jumps up onto the Scarab. It's very easy to miss, and I passed it a bunch of times before realizing that scene existed. Let me see if I can find it on Youtube...
