Anyone have an idea on the speed of the old Forerunner slipspace? The dreadnought took days to get from Installation O5 to Earth, but somehow Johnson beat them to Earth, although this might be due to the fact that Truth was never able to achieve complete power to it, so back to the question, any idea? The portal on Earth seemed to have instantly teleport the separatists to the Ark, that's thousands of lightyears, so any estimates or ideas?

Although Asgard/Alteran Hyperspace comes close... when beefed up by two dozen ZPMs.
Unless you discount the wormhole drive that was used in the last season of Atlantis, which took them from the gap between galaxys to earth pretty quickly, however, this was experimental and could have killed them. This was beefed by ZedPM's too? But anywho, the Forerunner slipspace was supposed to be the fastest behind the Persecuters, who had achieved intergalatic travel, so i'm willing to say that it's quite speedy. Comparison with Star Wars haperdrive anyone?

Great answer! It's short, sweet, and to the point!!!
Posted by: greatestSheriff Faster than both Human and Covenant?
Exactly. Covenant can go up to 912 light years, although they never cracked the full power of the Forerunner shipspace, I must know.
Posted by: JobeTheConqueror What indication have we had that the Portals and their slipspace travel are the same?
And Cryptum. Calling them slipspace portals.

The Portals were special Forerunner constructs that when used set back their slipspace budget a very long time. Otherwise in their "standard" ships they moved far faster than Human or Covenant means. The Shaw-Fujikawa drive was a brute force instrument that ripped a hole into SS. in First Strike Cortana got a read on Covenant Slipspace capabilites. Due to the fact Covenants imitated all things Forerunner, they had a "near transcendant" ability to navigate their way through Slipspace. But at the same time they didn't realize the capabilities of said abilities because they didn't develop them, they merely copied them without comprehending the possibilities.
Posted by: mojeda101 that's thousands of lightyears,
Millions, actually, or hundreds of thousands. If that is any indication, then virtually instaniously for any in-galaxy flight.
