I was playing Oblivion and I went to sleep in a hotel. Next thing I know, I am a vampire, yet I don't recall ever fighting a vampire. It really sucks because I'm a level three vampire so I lose health quickly when in the sun.
I am trying to get the cure but I can't make progress. I can't go into the sunlight. The shopkeepers won't sell anything to me because I'm a vampire. I can't feed on people's blood to go into the sunlight because I have no lockpicks, and I can't figure out where to get lockpicks at night. Can anybody help me?

drink someones blood and you will be able to go into the sunlight and people won't see you as a vampire. Then do the quest for a cure for vampirism.

How do you have no lockpicks? They're everywhere! In caves and forts and on random bandits. If you can't find them, dun worry. Just go to the Imperial city, wait inside the Merchants inn until night, and just feed on the sleeping beggar in the garden area behind some of the shops. I'll probably just load a save. It's too much trouble being a vampire. I thought you could only become a vampire by battling one? Thanks for the help.
Posted by: ZxMagic TacoxZ I'm a level three vampire. My guy is level 15 and I have made good progress in the game. I have it for the 360 and I am doing the cure quest. I am on the part where you get the gems for the witch. Does anyone know where to find those?
This might help. I feel your pain OP. Vampires are powerful, but not if everyone hates you. Work your way through various referrals: from Raminus Polus, to Count Janus Hassildor of Skingrad to Melisande in Drakelowe. Retrieve some Grand Soul Gems to get Melisande to help you. Collect a long list of ingredients for the potion. Retrieve the potion, and take it back to Janus Hassildor for a reward.

You slept near a vampire. Load a previous save, or start a new game. If you're already really far into it and don't want to start over, there's a quest you can do to cure yourself. I'm not sure what it's called, but I'm sure a quick google search can solve all your problems.

talk to count of skingrad, feed on the poor, if #2 is unavailable, go into someones house in the DAY and wait around till NIGHT. (#3 could end up with you in jail.)
-
You can get lockpicks from shady black coat man to the left of the stables outside of the talos plaza district.
-
If you are in the Mages Guild, they will still sell stuff to you. Helped me alot.

i try to roam around at night, break in to homes and suck their blood so i don't get the sun sickness thing. As much as being a vampire is a pain in the ass... the questline is just as annoying. So I enjoy being a vampire when i use my imagination :D
Posted by: eggsalad Start over. It's overall a wiser decision.
agreed. Your only L3 no big deal starting over.

Well, the way I always got blood was by waiting until night and feeding on the homeless at the waterfront. There is a quest to remove vampirism or if you have the deepscorn hollow DLC you can cure it from there.

PC? console commands-tgm or console commands-coc testinghall Xbox? lol
-
Go to Skingrad and talk to the Count.
