All Star Cast for the Halo movie
you know, a lot of people have been speculating that Denzel will be the Master Chief. personally, i hope it doesn't happen. for one thing, he just doesn't have the cool, impersonal demeanor that i've come to expect from the Master Chief after reading the books and playing both games. we would empathize with him too much, i think. also, he doesn't have the trademark gruff, scratchy voice which i think is perfect for the MC.
so, having said that, i'd like to continue by throwing out a few names i've been thinking about. of course, we dont know which characters will be in the movie, so if you'd like to add an actor to a particular character from the games or book, that'd be great. and obviously this isn't an official thing, it's just a nice little thread to show everyone's top picks for the movie. this is all definitely personal preference, so even though i'm probably going to get flamed [a lot] for some of these picks, just keep in mind that it's MY preference. and again, feel free to disagree and substitute your own picks.
Master Chief: Johnny Messner -- i saw this dude in tears of the sun with bruce willis. the whole time, i thought "man, this guy IS the Master Chief." he doesn't have a long list of credentials, which i think is favorable for this movie.
Cortana: gotta keep her CG. i would hate nothing more than to look up at the screen and see a little miniature purple Kiera Knightly or Sanda Bullock or whoever. let's just have Jen Taylor on the voice-over.
Sgt. Johnson: Samuel Mother-blam!- Jackson. just kidding. i dont know. an angry african-american man.
Dr. Halsey: i dont know, but she has to be a little older, and she has to be attractive. ideas?
anyway, i forgot some of the other ones, which leaves room for everyone to come up with their own all star cast.

Cortana is a mental copy of Dr. Halsey, so Jen Taylor might not be too bad a pick.

The Dr. was an aged woman in her later years who was extremely brilliant. I don't think Thurman could portray her...not in a million years.
