The city doesn't look like New Mambasa and the hallway doesn't look familiar. It very well could have been leaked from destiny. We're pretty sure they've been working on it since pre-ODST since there are hints to it in the ODST campaign. Maybe this was leaked and people had no idea about Destiny so they assumed it was Reach stuff. The plot thickens... again... again.......again...

Looking at the little bits of video from the trailer, the game from first glance looks similar to games like From Dust or Minecraft. I get that type of feel from the time lapse videos of the sun rising and setting as well as when they show them creating detailed mountains in an instant. I think they showed us this for a reason - To make us think that maybe we are going to be able to shape our world in a similar fashion, rather than having us think that Bungie are just to lazy to model there mountains by hand, haha. In a way I think that this game will have something to do with you creating a sustainable life for yourself on a planet. The windmills and powerlines make me think of Sim City where you need to provide electricity to your city. Eventually though, I think your world will grow and soon you may venture off into space. Space obviously seems to be a big theme of Bungie's next project. I think this also makes sense considering one of the job posting wants you to create a believable economy system for the game. Kind of a different direction from everyone's MMO-FPS-RPG theories, but hell, perhaps Bungie is going to try and combine all of these genres.

I would be interested in seeing an MMO. I'm not sure how that would work on a console though... If it was a PC game, then I could definitely dig a MMO from Bungie. It will be interesting to see how they pull it off on a console. They do have a lot of history of proving skeptics wrong. GAH, can't wait!

Bungie, you have an uncanny ability to build hype for your games unlike any other studio. It almost feels like the years before Halo 3 or Halo 2.... I look forward to hearing more about this game.

There are few questions/concerns on my mind. I suppose I'll start out with something that would hugely impact their game's success if it were an MMO. Michael Pachter, an industry financial analyst on Gametrailers, revealed a year or two ago that he had been in discussions with Bungie in which they expressed interests in subscription plans for their future products. As we've seen from the outcry from Call of Duty Elite, I truly believe that gamers will refuse to pay $5 in addition to their XBL subscription to play a game. If Pachter was telling the truth, Bungie adding a required subscription might kill their new IP. However, additional content for subscribers vs free players for a nominal $10 or so a year might work out better as we've seen with Bungie Pro. Cross platform play would be essential to keep the game alive since, as we've seen with the XBL numbers, there is a much larger variety of games for gamers to play compared to Bungie's Halo 2 days. Having cross platform play for the Xbox, PS3, and PC would definitely extend the life of their IP for many years. Another concern I have is with Microsoft playing ball with cross platform play. As we've seen with Valve, Microsoft is not keen to giving gamers free content which could be an issue for Bungie if they were to do cross platform play as everyone's speculating. My biggest concern is with this generation of consoles. As we can see from Bungie's hiring ads, Bungie's making a game for the current console generation despite the possibility of new consoles being announced in the next couple years. Obviously this wouldn't affect the PC market (if Bungie's developing the game for the PC), but what would happen to Bungie's IP if it was stuck in the previous generation of consoles? Bungie has a hard road ahead of them no matter what they do. It makes me wonder... tl;dr- How will the possibilities of subscription based gaming, cross platform integration, lack of cooperation from Microsoft, and the next generation of consoles affect the longevity Bungie's next IP?

BTW, saw something, not sure if its me taking way to much from it but in the Per Audacia Ad Astra picture. It honestly looks like the lower atlantic ocean between South America and Africa.
