American faces 1-year in prison in Canada for a loli manga

Here's the story.
An american dude went to Canada with his laptop.
Canadian authorities felt it necessary to sift through his laptop upon arrival, and found a loli manga.
He now faces a year in prison.

If someone converts a fantasy about -blam!-, or -blam!-, or anything else along those lines, into real action, then they have done something wrong and should be punished. But indulging in the purely imaginary--no matter how graphic or realistic, and no matter how much the fantasy repels the mainstream--is simply not the same thing, and should not be treated as though it were.[/quote]
