They made it very clear from the beginning that posting answers was prohibited. Also: "If people need help, who are we to deny them?" Seriously? "Pointing people in the right direction so they can get the answer for themselves and enter a contest..." and consequently reduce the chances of those who legitimately solved the puzzle? The entire point of this puzzle is to think through it and figure it out. It's [u]designed[/u] to be difficult; they said as much when they posted it. Not everyone is [u]supposed[/u] to figure it out. That's the whole point. Now, if they wanted to close the contest after a certain point, but wait a day or so before posting the answers, so people could help those who couldn't figure it out on their own? Fine. I'd have no problem with that. But for people to just hand out clues -- some more accurate than others -- to a puzzle for a contest with a limited prize? That defeats the whole purpose of the puzzle.
