Just wondering.

 •
Posted by: ImmortalJoshua Bungie has suggested that the warrior Skirmishers were wiped out during the Fall of Reach. Warrior Skirmishers. WARRIOR. The fighter class. This means that the Skirmishers themselves are still alive, but their overall WARRIORS may be extinct. Over time though, warriors may return.
All of those sources explicitly deny what you are saying.
Bungie explain to us that the reason why we haven't seen them before is that the last of them perished on Reach.
Use ctrl+F and type in Skirmisher. That sentence there is just after the first occurrence of that word in the article. All the other sources state roughly the same thing. So where exactly are you pulling your info from?

 • that isn't an extinction then, if the entire NATO army gets wiped out that doesn't classify as an extinction. So bungie can't follow their own canon or use terms correctly, awesome.

 •
Posted by: grey101
Posted by: ImmortalJoshua
Posted by: Spartan 100 According to Bungie, yes.
Warrior Skirmishers. That doesn't mean the whole Skirmisher "species" went extinct. The Kig-Yar homeworld is made up of Skirmishers and Jackals. Both are Kig-Yar. I'm sure that there's an even amount on the planet.
Huh? how many times do we have to correct you? like really? you shouldn't even post here because you are NEVER correct. The skirmishers were said to inhabit locations other than the Kig Yar homeworld, hence them being vastly different and up for being called a sub species.
Doesn't mean there aren't any still on Eayn. Like you said, they went to colonize other worlds, but you can't deny the fact that there are still some still in the homeland.

 •
Posted by: grey101
Posted by: mojeda101 Possibly, some claim that there were models similar to Skirmishers in Halo CE, which I do not agree with, they are black, nothing more, no feathers.
Hence them suppose to be a different type, bungie themselves said there was suppose to be another model but they ran out of time.
Always...They ALWAYS say they ran out of time...I'd wait 10 years for the Ultimate Halo game.

 •
Skirmisher: The Jackal and Skirmisher are of the same species, with the larger, more heavily muscled specimens comprising grenadier-type units (Skirmishers) and the smaller, more lightly built specimens seeing deployment as dedicated ranger or sniper units (Jackals). This is a significant change from engagements prior to 2530 when mixed units were more common.
That's the description Bungie gave for them, and the reason they were only at Reach is the following.
"They saw extensive action during the Fall of Reach, and as a result of catastrophically high casualties the Skirmisher ranks were utterly exhausted and the Skirmishers themselves nearly wiped out."
• From what I know there are many different races of kig'yar and skirmishers are just a faster type of breed
