Why do competitive players always double tap "Y" so much?
After playing Halo Multiplayer since halo 2 ive never understood why people do it..

It's a habit like the Ogre twitch.

I do it to zoom out faster/easier.

I claw, yet I find it kind of uncomfortable, so I do it to keep my finger from hurting.

I do it to get out of zoom faster and to keep my reaction times up.

It helps me stay focused because if just walk around without doing anything, I start thinking about what I'm doing, how much pressure I'm putting on the thumbsticks, where I should be looking, and it makes me hesitate. I can't think about it because thinking leads to overthinking and that causes people to choke. Hard.

I do it, I did it in Halo 2 and A LOT on COD now I don't do it as often but I still do.

I do it to cancel double reloads and so I can zoom in faster after reloading (can't shoot faster though.)

Pure habit, it originates from the Y,Y reload and Y,Y Halo 2 combo for RT,RT,X,Y,Y,RT,RT,X... and to be honest it feels stylish even more in this game to watch my bloom reset.

Probably just to keep their hands working to make their reaction time stays quick, but who knows?

its a reaction, i picked it up in mw2 while sniping. Now I slide B+Y together to have a weird animation through out the weapons. Very addicting.
