Hey guys, so I've been scouting through the forums and I've only found a few posts relating to their favorite permutations of reach armor, and I disagree almost completely! So, I'm going to post; A) my favorite permutations in each category (I.E helmets, chest, shoulders, ect.) and B) what my playermodel looks like! When it comes to armor I am really judgmental of other players. I'm like the straight Bruno of Halo Reach. Okay that was a terrible example but, nonetheless... Helmets: 1) Mark V Probably the coolest helmet in the game. underrated by far because it is relatively in the middle of the ranking system, but I definitely think it deserves the top spot because to me, it's what I think of when I think about reach; Mark V. 2) Mark VI Definitely taking the number two spot here, similar reasons to the Mark V. It is extremely cool looking, and most likely because of it's date of creation the best helmet offering physical protection from ballistics. Also, I would say it is the most aesthetically pleasing helmet in the mix by far. 3) Air Assault Before you imagine the Air Assault helmet, rid your mind of Kat. Forget about the handicapped spartan girl who most fanboys hate. Forget about the constant nagging and menstruation-led speech that exited through her lips. Now, think about airborne spartan units exiting through pelicans from extremely high altitudes into highly dangerous areas. Yeah, it takes the third spot for me. Wear it with a silver visor, sport the FJ-Para shoulders and knees, and have the HP-Halo or HP-Parafoil chest piece, and you gain a lot of respect in my book of Halo Reach fashion. 4) Scout Associated with Snipers. Snipers are cool. Do I need to say more? The Helmet itself looks like a loyal dog, especially with a Black Visor. Loyal dogs are tight, man. I think this takes the number four spot pretty well. 5) CQC Given relatively early yet still extremely aesthetically pleasing and surprisingly legit looking. 'Nuff said. Right Shoulders: A general rule of me judging players in-game is that the right shoulder should ALWAYS be significantly smaller than the left. The left shoulder should STICK OUT to cover the blind-side of the soldier, ALWAYS. The exception is Emile, who is a shotgunner, and has his knife on his right side. But he's also extremely cool, so we can just leave it at that. 1) FJ-Para Now, most people would completely overlook the simple look. FJ-Para to me are the standard shoulders, because they match with everything. Seriously, try them out. They don't look bad with ANYTHING. They look especially good with other airborne equipment, though. Namely, Air Assault and any HP chest. 2) Mark V Basic look but a little more bulky. See the above post. 3) Sniper High Velocity, armor piercing. Need I explain this? 4) Operator Beta-5 Operator. Look sleek, preform sleeker. 5) Security Sweet knife, bro! Left Shoulders: Not going to explain the left shoulders. They should stick out. Mark V and FJ-Para are there because they are matchable with most other permutations. Mark V is above FJ para because they stick out more. 1) Mark V 2) FJ-Para 3) Commando 4) CQC 5) Grenadier Chest: I'm going to start typing less, it seems to be easier for me and you. 1) Commando Awesome extra mags on the front in terms of practicality, and sweet soft pack on the back. 2) HP-Parafoil Suspender swag? Yes. Oh, and side mag pouches. 3) Tactical LRP Extra mag pouches with a simple look? I'll take it man. 4) Scout Ghillie suit or scarf? Either way, it's swagged out. 5) Sapper Grenade shelled suspenders. Yeah, you look official. Knee Pads: 1) FJ Para Probably the coolest just out of the fact that most of noble team wears them. 2) Gungnir Surprisingly gungnir has decent looking knee pads. Everything else looks extremely terrifying though. 3) Default Yeah well, they're better than grenadier. 4) Grenadier Yeah well, you have basketballs on your knees, bro. Do you ball, man? Visor Color: 1) Gold Reminiscent of halos of the past. 2) Black Once you go black... 3) Default Matches with all colors. Simplistic yet amazingly cool. 4) Silver If you're going for an Airborne or ODST look. 5) Blue Disgusting. Do not purchase, even if it may be tempting at an earlier stage. Waste of valuable resources you could spend on a firefight voice or an armor effect *get the sarcasm guys?* Okay, that's all folks. I'll post more sweet pics of myself later. See ya!
