Why arnt the grunts teamed up with the humans in halo 3?
Ok,during the final levels of halo 2, you play as the arbiter killing brutes. the brutes and the prophets have betrayed the elites, they also betrayed the hunters and the grunts. during the final levels i remember playing as the arbiter and fighting alongside grunts and hunters, we were killing the brutes and the jackles and the drones. so at the end of halo 2: the elites, the grunts, and the hunters are all against the rest of the covenant. in halo 3 the elites are still against the covenant, they team up with the humans. but how come in halo 3, the grunts and hunters are back in the covenant?! in halo 2 they were against them!

Only some of the Hunters and Grunts sided with the Elites and Humans. In Halo 3, some of them are still on the Human side but Bungie didn't put friendly hunters and grunts into the Halo 3 campaign to reduce confusion so people would not have to figure out if certain hunters were helping or fighting them

At the end of the H2 campaign the gruts were on the side of the covenant again, not in the side of the heretics (elites e.g arbiter). That explains why they were enemies in Halo 3.

In halo canon it is stated only small portions of those races joined the elites in their rebellion, the majority of which stayed with the covenant

To avoid confusion, same with Hunters that sided with Elites. This should be in the H3 forums, since this has nothing to do with Reach.
