Where does ODST fit into the Halo timeline?
Hey guys, I'm new to the Halo series, so I need some help with understanding the timeline. I'm currently trying to get all the Halo games (except Wars) so I can play them in order. I have Reach, Combat Evolved, and ODST so far. I'm working on getting 2 and 3. My question is, where exactly does ODST fit in the timeline?

Where are you getting this?[/quote] He gets it from the books. Which I don't even consider canon. Read the book the fall of Reach. It is a nice story but to me not canon.

The truth is that Halo Wars actually took place after Halo 3: ODST took place before the Chief touched down because of the simple fact that the city was destroyed when In Amber Clad left with the Covenant cruiser. ODST takes place before the Chief touched down and the regular marines were dying.

ODST takes place after the ending cut-scene to the level "Metropolis" in Halo 2. And just for the record: Halo Reach is not canical to the Halo time-line.. Reach didn't happen that way.. >_>

Between Halo 2 and Halo 3.

ODST starts near the end of the Halo 2 mission Metropolis and continues through its own story while Halo 2 does its own. They both end before Halo 3.

If you watch the initial drop cutscene, just before the cruiser goes into slipspae, at it's bottom right corner you can see the inamberclad

If you want to fit ODST into the timeline perfectly then play it right after you complete the leve Metropolis in Halo 2.
