Gaming Headsets and Cancer.

Is it true, for example, that a 'wired' Xbox 360 Headset can cause any type of cancer? I heard about this and I'm pretty shocked, could it be true?

 • When my brain explodes from the super cancer from my headset, I'll be sure to leave it in my will for somebody to inform EVERYBODY about it.

 • Wires with current passing through them generate magnetic fields. Scientists are still trying to figure out what the effect of long term exposure to these magnetic fields has on the human body. That's actually a major reason why people are suspicious of cell phone use. I don't think that this is anything to worry about, but I suppose if you want to be careful you could limit your exposure if you wear it all the time, but that's not necessary.

 • well what do you define as radiation? in the most basic sense it does radiate so it does give off radiation... just low level radiation.
Posted by: SamH How would it give you Cancer? It doesn't even use radiation does it?
• everything has the potential of causing cancer. most electronic waves hit skin and cause heat, most do not cause cancer, some might mess with magntic field of the mind (as it's weak) but really you must be very unlikely to get cancer from waves coming out of a headset. possible but not likely.

 • Wireless would be more likely to cause cancer, since it communicates with radio waves I think? Wired would be no risk whatsoever.

 • Did you know that cell phones only heat up the side of the head you have it placed when you use it? No cancer has actualy came from useing a cellphone... It seems ridiculus that we get this stupid fears. But they do serve a purpose, they act as a garuntee that we are not killing our specieas... In a sense fear is a streangth.

 •
Posted by: LoftyDaDan Everything is radioactive. There are very few things that are lethally or unhealthily radioactive. Gaming headsets are probably not of this category.
this though there may be individual cases where the headsets could cause some damage. Same as cell phones giving people tumors. It's possible, but not every person using a cell phone is going to get a tumor, it's an individually based thing.

 • you can get cancer from typing too much. You can even get cancer from drinking cold water. I call bull-Blam!- It is all about money, investments, fear, it all works together. It is all a lie. • Well, wireless send a crazy speratic signal through the cerebral cavity... so it would have a higher chance of creating a brain tumor than cancer...
